"Western countries has no bonus" could be confusing since they are to the east of the map...

I meant outsider countries.

Stick with it - "26 territories is not making the cut" is not based on a divine law - more small maps would be welcomed by a fair section of the playing community.

I know. I could keep it. But, by the way it is now, it continues as a small map, and add's a diferential gameplay. It will also be better seen by the cartografy team.

Your image is a funky size... 650x650, it's just above the small limit, but too small for a large image... Try increasing the size, then maybe you could remove some of the abbreviations. It doesn't matter if the territory names don't exactly fit the territories, as long as the text doesn't cover any important features (ie. borders in places where you need to see if two territories connect).

Also, you need to rethink your bonus areas. The center bonus is practically impossible to hold. It'll just end up as a wasteland, the way it is now... South-west as well.

The font of territory names is ugly, change that. Look for suitable fonts at dafont.com. Handwritten fonts, comic sans and the like, really work for a very few maps.

The light cyan colour of the legend is way too bright, hurts the eyes. Go with something more eye friendly, like light blue/grey. It will also provide a nice contrast to the map.

Sorry, I must have missed the update!

I'd rather see the other countries out of the game.

Lose the glow on the docks.

Find some bridges (maybe shrink the docks and use that? Rope bridges?)

It needs some more cultural feel. I love the colors though. Perhaps some Alpacas or Machu Pichu? I don't know a whole lot about Peru other than that, so I apologize if its clichƩ.

I'm pretty sick of the "Capital auto-deploy" gimmick on maps. Lets try something different? Perhaps having the capital increases your territory bonus to 2 per 3 territories? So under 12, 4, over 12 is 5, 15 is 6. Or National capital plus any regional capital gives +2. Try something different! Experiment!

What's between Bolivia and Puno, a lake?

Yes, that thing between puno and bolivia is a lake. titicaca lake. I thought using it, but decided not to.

I'll keep the glow on the ports for now. The map is not the same without it.

What's the size for small maps?

Yep. 630x600 is the maximum for small image, 840x800 for the large. However mapmakers are encouraged to stay within 600x600 and 800x800, unless there is a good reason why it needs to be larger (such as all features not fitting otherwise).

Also, the large image must be at least 9% larger than the small image, but 33% is recommended.

Natty, you forgot to state your reference of section 1, paragraph 2, subparagraph 5. You'll never make it into Foundry Bylaw Committee stating regulations so carelessly. [/joke]

Looking at the map, a couple of typoes jump out at me:
- Outside countries HAVE no bonus.
- ESTABLISHED 1824

Otherwise, the map's feel is significantly more playful than I would expect out of a country map, but it works. The bridges, however, don't fit with the slight indistinctness (that makes me feel like it's playful) that the rest of the map has. It's a couple of boring straight lines, and a straight separator between the region colors. Perhaps some sort of icon in the same spirit as your mountains?

I still urge you to change that font you use for the territory names. Like I said, a handwritten font really does not compliment the map...

Better. You could decrease the size though. The text being so large relative to the map makes it look odd. With smaller text you could maybe reduce the abbreviations too.

You want to decrease it more!?
I already see it as small enough for this map. If I decrease the size, it may become unreadable.

This is the small version. You can easily use 8-9 px. text with the right font.

Design Brief approved. This map has the right graphical feeling that a map of Peru ought to have and its on the approach to a unique gameplay. At first I was hesitant regarding the extra countries, but upon looking at the map again, I think they're going to have an interesting place in the game. Especially if they start neutral 2 or 3.

I like that the capital bonus isn't another "auto-deploy +1" though I think the legend needs clarification to say "Hold the capital and any three territories for +1"

And with such a nice tonal pattern and lack of gritty texture, I really think you could ditch the army circles.

Best of luck in the gameplay workshop!

On the bonuses, I'd say drop the 6's to 5's. Bump up North East to 2 and reduce south east to 1.

South East is going to have to have a neutral on it to prevent someone from dropping the bonus. So would North east.... maybe you should just merge the two? But then without an easy bonus, the map becomes kind of strange... but then with the Lima bonus you can make your own and the capital becomes more important. Just thinking outloud there. \\

Also, i'd like to see the names like North East and South West be in Spanish.
