Each school will be represented by two CC players. Each member of the team will choose which of the five slots they would like to fill (ending with all 10 spots represented). These are the spots that these players will fill during the regular-season schedule.
Weight classes AND Regular season team point breakdown

Weight classes/maps used (each wrestler picks five)

Once we reach Regionals each member of the team will have a wrestler in all 10 weight classes.
REGULAR SEASON
ā¢ Our 22 total teams will be grouped into three divisions.
The regular season will consist of seven total dual-meets; two basic tournaments and Regionals (complex tourney).
ā¢ Points are awarded throughout the regular season to determine your final standing within your six-team division. This is mostly for bragging rites and somewhat for seeding into the Regional and National tournaments.
4 points for each dual win
1 point for each team you finish in front of in tournaments
7 points for each team you finish in front of at Regionals.
DUAL MEETS
ā¢ These are head to head showdowns with each of the other teams in your division. You will compete across the 10 weight classes to come up with a final dual score.
ā¢ Team points are awarded for pins (6), technical falls (5), major decisions (4) and regular decisions (3). How quickly you win your map determines how your wrestler winsā¦see chart.
Ties are broken by criteria as followsā¦.
ā¢ Most wins
ā¢ Most falls
ā¢ Remains a tie and each team gains 2 points.
BASIC TOURNAMENTS
ā¢ Teams will travel to two basic tournaments during the regular season to get a taste of competition around the country. These tournaments will combine two different divisions for a total 14 or 15-team event. Both wrestlers on each team will compete in all 10 weight classes for these tourneys.
ā¢ These are labeled ābasic tournamentā because it will be single elimination. Team points are accrued by advancing through each weight-class bracket --
1st place (12 pts.); 2nd place (8 pts.); 3rd place (5 pts.); 4th place (3rd pts.); reaching the quarterfinals (1 pt.); advancing through the bracket...does not include placing matches...(2 pts).
Bonus points -- Win by fall (2 pts.); Win by Tech Fall (1.5 pts.); Win by majority (1 pt.)
REGIONALS
ā¢ Regions are displayed in the standingsā¦you will be facing the teams within your group with the top six in each weight class qualifying for Nationals.
ā¢ Wrestlers will be seeded based on their regular-season performance, but you must gain a place on the podium (top six) at this event to qualify for the NCAA nationals. Both wrestlers from each team will compete in all 10 weight classes giving us brackets of 14-16 wrestlers.
ā¢ The major difference for this tournament is that the championship bracket will be played as a best-of-3 series with each map representing a two-minute wrestling period. Bout points will be scored based on the following formula -- win in 6-7 rounds = near-fall + takedown (5 pts.); win 8-9 rounds = near-fall (3 pts.); win 10-11 rounds = takedown (2 pts.); win 12+ rounds = escape (1 pt.); Win the majority of maps = Takedown (2 pts.).
*If a player wins any of the maps in 5 rounds or less, he is rewarded a pin and the bout is over regardless of score. Also, if the score is tied, the bout will go to overtime ā one final map with the winner earning the winning takedown.
Here's an example -- Player A wins 1st map in 8 rounds (3 pts.); Player B wins 2nd map in 11 rounds (2 pts.); Player B wins 3rd map in 10 rounds (2 pts.); Player B wins majority of maps (2 pts.) --
Final bout score Player B 6, Player A 3.
ā¢ The other difference in this tournament is that it includes a consolation bracket (double-elimination), allowing wrestlers to advance to a placing match once they pick up their first loss. The consolation bracket will be played in the single-map format with scoring as used during the regular-season duals.
Team points are tallied similarly to the regular-season tournaments...the only change is that the Quarterfinal bonus is taken away and 5th place gets 2 pts. and 6th place gets 1 pt.
NCAA NATIONALS
ā¢ All right, this is the big daddy event for this Conquer Club tournament. The team champion of the NCAA Nationals will be declared the CC winner.
ā¢ Scoring will be the same as Regionals with teams using their qualifiers to pile up the most team points possible. Each weight class will start with 18 wrestlers ā the six qualifiers from each Regional.
