CairnsWK Retires

As usual, this person above doesn't know when to shut his mouth.
So to protest this continued low form of scarcasm and diatribe that comes from a hole in his face....I am leaving this place.
I have put up with enough scarcasm from Mibi over the last three years (as have others) and I am sick and tired of seeing this, along with the continued bickering that has recently become commonplace in the Foundry.

I have achieved what i set out to do as my goal....25 maps.

MrBenn, please place all other maps in the foundry in the dead project bin.

I thank lackattack and Andy and others who offered courteousness to me during the last three years.

I wish all other mapmakers the very best in their endeavours.

Goodluck everyone.

Christ cairns, you have to be joking. After all you've done, you let a competition and a comment get to you? C'mon man, this is totally an overreaction to stop what you love doing and making maps people love.

Bye bye Stalingrad...

Just when I'm coming to really appreciate your more complex maps too. At least finish what you started with the maps in the foundry?

sorry that you're leaving with bad feelings - CC will not be the same without you man. But everyone needs a break from this place every so often. Maybe with some time off, you'll come back refreshed and full of ideas :) But if not, thanks for all you've done.

ROFL!

I love the internet sometimes.

Cairns, in all honesty, swear on my grandmothers grave, I said that comment with no sarcasm whatso ever. It was entirely earnest. Everyone knows you are the most prolific map maker and so far ahead of anyone else in terms of production that it would be an honor and appropriate to have such a medal named after you.

Anyways, I am not here to tickle your ass hairs. You have always made maps for yourself, which is quite evident in your subject matter and determination. I don't see why any external factor should prevent you from engaging in this personal exercise.

However as RJ said, we all need a break sometimes. Entropy and the like. You often seem like John Henry, driving endless rail road spikes into the Trans ConquerClub railway. It's bound to catch up to you. So if there is no love for the process, take a break to let distance work its magic, and don't let incredibly handsome and talented dickheads like me have any sway over your actions.

Believe me, I don't comment on your maps anymore because you have earned my utmost respect.

Here's hoping that mibi's comment will make cairnswk reconsider. I was really looking forward to all the maps in his signature.

Best of luck in all your future pursuits, Cairnswk. You've certainly left an indelible mark on Conquer Club's past, present, and future, through your grand experience and production as a Cartographer.

Regardless of mibi's correction, my guess would be that cairnswk's decision is not based entirely on that one comment, but has been a long time coming.

Best of luck to you cairnswk. You and I haven't always seen eye to eye, but I know how much this place can wear you down, so I give you mad props for sticking to your guns and lasting around here as long as you have. Someday down the road when folks realize just how damn hard it is to quench 25 maps perhaps there actually will be a Cairnswk lifetime achievement medal, and I say that with all due respect and sincerity.

Wow, there's not much left of our generation of CC cartographers is there. :(

Well if CairnsWK really is retiring, i think CC should do something to honor all he has done for CC... at least give him a little highlight section in memory of all his maps, that's the least they could do. CairnsWK you are the man! Thanks for all the maps.

Why? He has been compensated the same way anyone ever is for each map, he has the notoriety of making all the maps he has. He has his fans and everything that goes with that. I'd say he has already been rewarded in full. The least they could do is nothing at all, that's all I plan on doing. I guess if anyone wants to do more than nothing that is their business, I just don't see the point of it.

Sad to see you leave Cairns, maybe you could reconsider and just finish the maps you’re working on…

Anyway, you’ve definitely spent a huge amount of time doing your magic for the benefit of CC, and all of us, which welcome every new map like generals waiting for the next battle. And yes, 25 maps it’s a landmark - having my share of Foundry action, I know how resilient, patient and cooperative you need to be to achieve that goal.

For that you have my total and sincere admiration! =D> =D> =D> =D>

Coleman is quite correct.
I have been recompensed for the maps, and there is no other honours required for me.

I think what he is trying to say is, you are the most prolific map maker here at CC. You are in fact, in a class all your own, and it would be proper in his view, (and mine as well), to acknowledge your accomplishment. :D

I disagree here. You are the conquer of maps. Not any stab at anybody else, but your maps have truly changed the face of CC. The staggering number of maps you had come out is a feat in itself that will be hard to top. Sad to see you go. Thanks for all the fun maps! =D>
