Re: BOB 4.10.4

Is the new version of Das Schloss covered in this version of Bob? On of my games changed midgame, but my Bob is not reading the new layouts? Game 6216108

For example, if i hover over escapeflugen, I get 2 adjacent blue territs. This was true in the old version of the map.

I think it will change in time, or if you need it now just hit ctrl-f5 on that map (I think that should solve it, not entirely sure though).

I just noticed this:

In foggy nuke games, if you nuke a foggy territory owned by an opponent, BOB does not register it, while the in-game stats do. Is it possible to link the BOB territory counter to the existing in-game stats to prevent this from happening?

Yeah - this is because the log doesn't say that people have lost territories...

Now that the Stats are shown by the site - this should just be read from there - like what we did for number of cards.

Hmm, I pm'd dvanraven, and he said his was solved ,he did a defrag/scan, and next morning it started to work again. But that doesn't really make sense to me.
I know version 4.10.4 works for most ppl, are you getting any errors in the error console (ctrl-shift-j) when loading a game page?

I was getting three errors. I uninstalled and reinstalled for the third (or maybe fourth) time and sure enough it works now. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I love the script and now I can get back to winning. My teammates must have been getting tired of me not knowing what's going on in games. :D

Thanks.

My CC [side stats] have gone AWOL. I have a blank space, where they ought to be.

If i disable BOB then they come back, so i'm guessing that the problem is with BOB, since the latest site updates.

Running;
Vista
Firefox 3.6
BOB 4.10.4

Mr. Obvious suggests:
Check that the BOB Menu View Options Default Stats are On, and of course that your Game Settings Side Stats is Yes (otherwise, they will be below the map, I think).

The side stats are set to yes.

And they appear as the map first loads (for a second), then once BOB has finished initializing, it knocks them out.

I know what you're thinking, "If you use BOB then why do you need side stats?" The fact is, BOB only counts the number of enemy territs that are visable in a foggy game, where as sidestats give you the info that you would otherwise have to count manually from the log.

But if the BOB Menu View Options Default Stats is Off, then the CC stats disappear whether they are at the side or below.

I rarely play foggy games, and I am not in one just now so I can't check, but I thought BOB showed the visible count and then the calculated count in parentheses.

The shortcut for the next game link doesnt work since the next game link have been changed by CC.
Easy fix, please do :)
Its distrubing the fine cycle of pressing B and N to go through all of your games.
Thanks.

Yeah, easy fix. But for Clickable maps, not for BOB. It was mentioned in that thread already.

I've thought about it, but it's very hard at the moment. At least I can't take the same mechanism BOB (or Clickable Maps) uses to know the page has changed if I want to use the default mechanism for Chrome. That's blocking at the moment, and to do it correctly I think I'll need Lack to make a change.
But I'll have to solve some other things too, though those seem easier to solve.

Re: Invalid round in snapshot

Installed version 4.10.4.

When the Load Full Log option is off, the round is invalid when you take a snapshot.

Note: it is working OK until you reach round 25 approx.

BOB currently prevents other scripts to subscribe to the refreshGMScript function. this is currently breaking the refresh of ConquerStats' data+charts.
In the code you change the implementation of unsafeWindow.refreshGMScript by assigning a new function to it. But you still need to call the original implementation of the function, like this:
Code: Select all
// upgrade refreshGMScript with new version.
originalRefreshGMScript = unsafeWindow.refreshGMScript;
unsafeWindow.refreshGMScript = function(armiesArray, date) {
(...)
   cc_log($('#middleColumn script').html());
   originalRefreshGMScript();
   return true;
};

Yep, I see your point (never looked at this in detail). I'll update it within a day.

I thought of a suggestion that might make BOB a little better (it would for me).

I am not sure if anyone ever said this before and I don't want to read 30 pages to find out so I will just say it again.

Instead of showing the number of territories that you can SEE in BOB when playing in the fog. Why not show it as a fraction of # of territories you can compared to the total number of territories that player has.

Say a player has 8 total territories (obvious from the game log) and you can see 5 of them. Then BOB would read 5/8 under the territories column.

I know this is kind of lazy, but when you really think about it that is all BOB is for is to make things more convenient and easy since anything that is shown on BOB can be reasonably figured out by any player just looking at the board. This is the same sort of thing, would just make it a little easier.

FYI - I've a feeling I coded Continents to work in Objectives when I originally coded Objectives...

Of course - I may have also not done it properly!!
