Congratulations to BOTH teams on a hard fought road to the Superbowl. The Stakes: The SuperbowlThe Matchup: Pittsburgh Steelers vs
Philadelphia EaglesThe Breakdown: The
Pittsburgh Steelers had a slow start to the season and had only a little chance of making the playoffs. As the weeks rolled on, so did the
Steelers! Quietly sneaking into the playoffs and winning the AFC North. They still had to play in the Wild Card round and host the Texans. After winning two of the three games they earned their spot in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. In the divisional round, they had to travel to Jacksonville and face the streaking Jaguars. Once again against the odds, they won 2 of 3 and advanced to the Conference Round. In the Conference Championships they were once again the underdogs against the San Diego Chargers. Again they won on the road and beat the Chargers at their own game proving their versatility!
The
Philadelphia Eagles were a completely different team. In one word, DOMINANT. The
Philadelphia Eagles lost only 2 games total during the entire regular season. Both games were to their rivals... the Dallas Cowboys. The
Eagles were staged to meet the cowboys in the Divisional Round of the playoffs, however the Chicago Bears changed that fate and took care of business in Dallas and instead went to Philadelphia to try to be only the second team to be able to defeat the mighty
Eagles on their trip to the Super Bowl. The
Eagles continued their dominance and made short work of the Bears, thanking them kindly for their time and efforts, and more importantly taking out the Cowboys. Then they knew no one could stand in their way.... or could they? After defeating the Rams in the Conference round, only 1 team stands in their way.... The Cinderella
Pittsburgh Steelers!
The Analysis: Will the Eagles continue to fly high and dominate the underdog Pittsburgh Steelers; or will the Steelers play with more heart and take advantage of the Eagles confidence? We will find out in a Best of 3 contest to decide the winners of it all. Who will be Superbowl Champions?
