The tenth Initech has been completed so I'm back down to six active tournaments (two of which are wrapping up in the coming days and one that will be deadlocked for awhile), so I'm happy to unveil Initech's seventeenth edition. Like all Initechs, this installment will be flat rate, chained, foggy with auto deploy. This tournament will use both standard and terminator games and will be based around the Eastern Hemisphere map and the European powers contained therein.. I present to you... Initech XVII: Euro Empires.
OVERVIEW
2-round, 70-game, 7-map, 24-player tournament. All players guaranteed fourteen games. Max games for an individual player is 28. Games will be 6-player and 4-player matches.
ELIGIBLE PLAYERS
Premium only, sorry. You'll need more than 4 games open at all times.
Also, minimum 20 games completed.
RULES
All games will be Sequential, Chained, Flat Rate, Foggy, Automatic Deploy
50% of games will be standard
50% of games will be terminator
MAPS
Eastern Hemisphere, British Isles, Portugal, France, Italy, Netherlands, Germany
POINT SYSTEM
Throughout the entire tournament, the following point system will be utilized:
Each Terminator map win will be worth 5 points, with each elimination (including the final one on each map) being worth 2 points.
Each Standard map win will be worth 15 points.
ROUNDS
The first round will consist of four 6-player groups. Each group will play 14 games on the maps listed above (each map twice--once as standard, once as terminator). The player with the most points is group winner and advances to the finals.
The final round will consist of one 4-player group. The format from the first round will be repeated. The player with the most points is group winner and tournament champion.
SEEDINGS
Once I have 24 entrants, I will divide everyone into six pots by points/rank. One person from each pot will randomly go into each first round group.
TIEBREAKERS
In the first round, the first tiebreaker will be most map wins. The second tiebreaker is most standard map wins. The third tiebreaker will be if either person won the standard Eastern Hemisphere game. The fourth tiebreaker is who scored more points on the Eastern Hemisphere terminator game. The fifth tiebreaker would be a head-to-head match on the High Seas map with tournament settings but no spoils.
In the final round, the first tiebreaker will be most map wins in the final round. The second tiebreaker will be most tournament points overall. The third tiebreaker is most standard map wins in the final round. The fourth tiebreaker will be if either person won the standard Eastern Hemisphere game in the final round. The fifth tiebreaker is who scored more points on the Eastern Hemisphere terminator game in the final round. The sixth tiebreaker would be a head-to-head match on the High Seas map with tournament settings but no spoils.
