suffocation is in fact correct we have been online at the same time him and I or so I see his picture by his forum post say so... Just I'm sick of guys like you picking on the little ppl. I may have just joined this site but I've seen enough of the other one's to know some things like...

1.) ANYONE can access these forums.

2.) All other forums I've been to at least people act like adults to one another instead of a bunch of 10 year olds (no offense to any 10 yr olds out there)

but ya suffocation is part of CC your part of CC mods are part of CC and I'm a part of CC. All I ask is that you show people at least SOME respect at times instead of always in their face. That's all I ask of you.

Is it not possible that a great freestyle player could impart their wisdom over a couple of weeks (while the accused just watched) to the extent that when the accused finally began playing he did indeed know a substantial numbers of maps, understood to have clickies installed immediately, and did indeed know about the c and a forum, who the admins are and all the rest of it?

I don't think it is impossible.

If the player had a natural aptitude for the game + had a large amount of tutoring (and it would need to be some serious teaching) then it is not impossible he could come straight on to the site and win well.

The chap may indeed be a multi, but I would make the point that it is not impossible that he is in fact legitimate. I direct this at the hunters as they do tend to follow the court of opinion (especially if there are any grey areas in the case) and slap down a judgement. What i am saying is that some inconsistancies (like the chap already having a top sitter after a few days) should not lean the judgement towards 'guilty'. The hunters should remember that in the case where we may have a seriously good player here.. it would be a pity to throw him out. CC loses in that case.

So what you're saying is that there are such men who would not take an online board game so casual and happy-go-lucky that they would just, after having gotten introduced to it, jump in and try it out (for free)? But rather study it in depth and detail before daring to enter and play this online board game? I beg to differ. Show me this man and I'll show you the psychopath of the century.

That's a great comment and I naturally appreciate the wit but I think it is flawed. One cannot say what a man should obsess over. There are people everywhere who are unusually focused (both in substance and style) on activities that would baffle most other people. I find it perfectly likely that there is a personality out there that would see it as perfectly rational to spend a month theorising Risk before venturing on to the board. Why not? I know that when I was at university and played a Russian at chess I went away and read about four books on chess before going back for a second game...sadly I still got beat as I have zero aptitude for chess, but I think you see my point.

I suppose I identify with this chap's argument because it is exactly the kind of thing I would do. My own record would suggest I spend a lot more time pondering Risk than playing it...and that would be true. Am I psychopath? I'm fairly sure not, but I may focus in an unusual way on activities others would find a pointless waste of brain power and life.

We are of course wandering our way towards the abstract in these posts and they will have little to no bearing on the result. But I do think this 'He must be a multi because neither I (nor anyone I even know) would ever approach CC in this manner' argument deserves to be shot down on principle. Personalities and aptitudes are endlessly varied, that's what makes life (and the study of it) so interesting!

I do see your point. That is - you try it out, you like it or get obsessed, then you come back having theorized it for a month. Without any serious reasons (which you are unlikely to find in an online board game), you don't start by digging into the theory for a month. No man would do that unless he's sure that he will enjoy this activity after the work/time spent learning it in the shadows. It's just so far from the economic man that it's greatly improbable.

Well if we both understand each other, but still feel the other is wrong on an issue that cannot be objectively proven without hard evidence, then I guess we will have to agree to disagree!!

(Many eventually pointless arguments should be decided on this basis IMO)

Have a good one,

Quite true. This is a more complicated that I had thought.

At this time I am going to NOTE this. This thread has brought up even more questions that I would love answers to. I do plan to actively following up on this one.

Sorry to double post, but 'without any serious reason'...are you sure? I could think of many. To prove he is better than his friend would be one or how about to validate his belief in his own general superiority. Maybe like me he is shit at chess yet still believes he can think strategically and goes out to prove it, or maybe he set himself a target of achieving major within a week and knew it would need serious preparation.

There are many reasons to do what he did. I suspect the issue is you learn by doing (fair enough) and also don't see inherent value in this activity we do..thus why care? I say again, while you see no inherent value in something it doesn't mean others don't. I direct you towards stamp collecting, toy train sets and World of Warcraft as examples of activities that appear to many to have no rational value to justify the immense investment of pondering many put into it.

Still, I doubt I've convinced you... ;)

Not quite sure what this means, was a scan of this account performed or not?? Was the PM some long winded bleeding heart excuse as to why he is using a proxy that previous multis have been found using??? Your complete lack of a decision and/or explanation certainly does not conclude this case, does it??

Gah you found out my strategy! I must make a new one now! jk but When I first bought the classic boardgame I studied it for hours before I began to play with ppl so you are correct someone might look at it for months and then play the online game... (I wouldn't tho, waste of time) I know this may be off topic but how did you play chess with a russian? you speak both languages?
