Yeah, this proves your intent of farming NR's.

Haha, see it that way if you wish! :)

If your not trying to farm New Recruits, why are you researching their Map and Setting Filters?

X is obviously trying to farm. Thats not really the point, it's whether this crazy Rube Golberg scheme, (which doesn't really work anyway) should be penalized as "farming" under CC rules. If it is, then it opens up a can of fucking ludicrous (not the rapper) on what is considered now the random players responsibility to not play new players.

Eventually, this will lead to "if anyone play's a ? and isn't a cook then BAMN, here is a farming C&A report". Don't laugh, anyone would have found having to switch your game settings becuase a TOO high percentage of ?'s joined (on their own) to be rediculus, until NOW.

Remember, ALL of this stems from the fact that LACK doens't want to loose money by ?'s quitting because they got their little butts hurt in the wrong game (that they joined on their own). And that is totally fine, and that is why the OTHER farming rules exist! But this is taking that TOO FAR.

I don't give a shit what happens to X, (sorry X), but I do care what kind of precident Law gets set by this ruling. Notice that this ruling is stemming from OTHER rulings (a la linked by Alster). So the slope is crumbling away every time a decision is made, since they are standing on the shoulders of previous rulings.

As noted, bettyflintstone has been inactivated.

For those who benefitted from bettyflintstone's point dumping, warnings have been sent out for those with their first offense in this area. For those with their second, namely obliterationX, they've received a score reset to 1000.

wow ! I dint know of these 2 bust already. Busted twice for collecting points through point dumping and now possibly farming new recruits with game invites. I told you months ago to stop playing new recruits all together. Thats the only way to be 100% sure you cant get busted for farming. If you get busted a 3rd time I would think you can only blame yourself. It seems you had plenty of chances even after receiving a point reset.

Potentially troublesome here is obliterationX past practice with respect to: 1v1 games / public / joining.

Reviewing the game history along these (perhaps narrow, but relevant looking at past C&A practice) parameters one can e.g. note the following streak.

The streak below has been gathered as follows:
- Search games
ā€“ obliterationX
ā€“ 2 players
ā€“ Public
- Games started by obliterationX ignored, only looked at joined games
ā€“ All games reviewed and listed between stated time intervals
ā€“ ā€œStill ?ā€ indicates that the opponent is still a noob and e.g. ā€œ4th game played / Still a ? when the game was initiatedā€ indicates that the opponent was (after reviewing the opponents game history) a noob when obliterationX joined the game.

62 joined 1v1 games during 18 days. 26 of those games were joined against an account that was marked ? at the time of joining, i.e. approx. 42% targeting ?s rate.

Of course, the numbers would obviously be different if looking at any other period of time ā€“ this was just a shore raid starting and ending with potential ? opponents when reviewing the game list in line with the search parameters stated above.

One thing about this, it makes it look as if he knew why the new recruits joined so often. to continue to do it after is "targeting" of new recruits is it not? I'm not sure the described method even works or the rate of success getting a new recruit to join.

unintentional ? I'm not so sure

Ok I have come to the conclusion that there simply isnt enough to find him guilty of farming new recruits.
For now we will clear and note this case.

Not enough? He's noted himself that he realizes the games go to the top of NR's pages after "research;" he's invited inactive players so these games get up there; and obviously the games fill with a large percentage of NR's. How is this not enough to show he is targeting new recruits?

Well put Fitz.

agreed

than we can cut back on mods researching farming complaints only to discover that playing new recruits over and over isnt farming.

Game 5536429
Game 5618838
Game 5618839
Game 5638498
Game 5638499
Game 5653959
Game 5811497
Game 5811498
Game 5975319
Game 5021333
Game 5327896

and im sure countless of accounts that are now no longer new recruits but were when the games were created and joined

Holy shit! Sanity! This is a good thing people! Cheers LV!

to OBX -> Stop doing this shit, honestly. Not only does it waste people's time and get you in trouble, the bigger tragedy is that it opens up the possiblity of crazy rules being made in a futile attempt to curb "farming" activity. These rules, as they pile higher and higher, end up hurting the game and this site in general.

WOW, does this sound like some serious pouting. "Waaaa, I feel so threatened by OBX's lame point raising scheme that now i'll make irrational comments." ;) Sans making noobs responsible (most of which are in their fucking 20's or higher), the farming rules regarding invites, game drops, and sniping noob made games are more than enough to curb serious farming.

This is a great statement actually! People MOVE OUT OF NOOBLAND, and everything they do gives them experience. So they joined one game they probably weren't ready for, they learned, (might have won!) and then got the hang of how the game/map/settings work. They gotta get thrown into the pool sometime. Unless we only allow them to play themselves till they rank up. That would suck! As a ? I would like to be able to play the hardcores if I want, test my mettle. :D

ahh the usual flame and not reading what I posted. If you would have actually looked at the game links I provided you would have seen he joined all the games vs the new recruits to farm them. Not new recruits joining his games.

I dont' see where I flamed you here, i was just making an observation on the meaning in your last statement and in regards to the topic at hand. It wasn't really directed as a rebuttle to you. I wasn't talking about the other stuff you posted on purpose, and thats why I didn't quote it. Yea, he has a tendancy to try and "farm", and if he's purposly sniping NOOB created games he should be held accountable for it if it's a high percentage, ect. blah blah, since that is a valid "farming" offence.

Try taking a deep breath and re-reading what I had posted in the context of noobs joining games. I think you made an interesting point without realizing it. Sorry if my meaning didn't get across. :)

Its not pouting, or irrational, its an honest suggestion. If a player can target so many new recruits, AND join so many of them in games, AND get cleared, whats the point of trying to stop anyone else.

I myself will not waste one more minute looking at a farming case. I dont care who does it, how they do it, or how often they do it.

I barely cared in the first place really, though since it seemed important to many, I joined in.

I think they cleared him because he is obviously a genius. Inviting inactive players to get the games bumped to the top of the waiting page? Sublime! Also obliterationX' defence was wonderfully obtuse and kept up (with a straight face) for over 8 pages. Make this man a mod! I've seen many an admin crack when trying to defend the indefensible but our chap here just got down and bullied on through.

It is also possible that they may have cleared him because they have realised that having blocked NR's from playing so many game styles, that the only possible games available were obliterationX's... ;)

As we speak, poor porkenbeans himself is being set up for a fall as the herd of NR's desperately looking for a game, any game for the love of god, is descending upon his 1vs1 action.

One should not criticise obliterationx. I firmly believe that this, like catching a cock disease, could happen to anyone (with a cock, naturally) and just like catching a cock disease it is only partially the fault of the diseased. One also has to give a stern ticking off to the disease itself...in this case 'rampantnritis'

Give these poor NR's some games to play and they'll stop infecting the poor bastards who just happen to set up a bunch of games they can play.

Well, you see the difference is that KraphtOne didn't join the noob games. Clearly, joining the noob games is not farming, but having the noobs join his games is farming. That makes sense...doesn't it?
