mike1566 [cleared]

Postby jammyjames on Sun Oct 25, 2009 4:36 am

Accused:

mike1566

The accused are suspected of:

Other: abusing the new inviting system

Game number(s):

Game 5811111
Game 5811135
Game 5811139
Game 5811141

Comments: it really annoys the hell out of me when i see players that do this, a colonel that is too afraid of another good doubles team joining theyre games. player has reserved a spot for another person so that a good team cannot join them. this happened before but i cant remmber if anything was done about it.

I just want a clarification. Are you saying that he is reserving a spot on the second doubles team?

Looks to me like he's found a couple of Cooks and reserved spots for them. Last time I looked at the games linked in this thread he had reserved his partner's place in Team One, and only the first place in Team Two: now filled by the Cooks.

Why would it be against the rules to reserve spots for bakers?

its unfair to others, its just pussyish behaviour, too scared to let a good doubles team play against you, its cowardly and deliberate farming, for instance you cant help it that low ranked people join your games DF, but if you invited low ranked players into it, you would be farming points as you know you would win.. bit clearer?

I just thought I'd add a little something here.

I was invited to two of those games...I immediately accepted (not reading the PM and believing they were tourney games since I've got so many of them...)
I then dropped seeing what was really going on...

I asked why he invited me via PM and he said this:
"last weekend i opened 30 and sent invitations to similar rank players but only 1 joined, a poor statistic. this weekend i sent another 30 games with invitations to lower ranks with many games played to see what happens. quite random, didnt check if we played together before. for sure nothing personal"

...I'm not sure what to think of this though.

Oh I understand what you are saying and what you are accusing, I'm just not aware of it being against the rules to invite low RANKED players to your games. The scoring system balances out these types of situations, if a higher ranked player invites lower ranked players to his game he takes on a higher risk with minimal reward.

Please read SLOWLY.

What james complaint is in re of is creator of DUBS games inviting 1 opponent there by excluding established dubs teams from joining. Kinda rigging the opponent pool. It's like farming for easier team game wins.

There was a complaint similar to this a couple three months back. I don't recall any decision in re of it though.

hahahaha. huh? what? must not read it too fast.

Inviting 1 opponent to team games is what the complaint is in re of. It kind of bars established teams from joining.

Have a nice day. :D

I think establishing a clear understanding of what 'farming' is what probably be best. If you have premium and purposely invite lower-ranked players, I guess there's a fine line. No one likes to lose, let alone lose a lot of points. However, if a higher ranked player purposely joined a game created by a lower ranked player, and continuously sought after said player or anyone else that is a considerably lower rank - on a regular basis, I take it this is classified as farming. I can't tell you how many times people have accused me of the same thing, and I was incredulous as to why they would accuse me - since all my games were a) Feudal 4 player games, and b) public. Anyways, james all I can say is that I don't personally think that there's anything wrong that was done...however maybe you should send this player a private invitation instead? If he rejects, I guess that would give you a clear answer huh?

You can be how annoyed you want, but that doesn't make it your business. I see no ?s on the first page of this guy's game list. To the contrary. I see quite a variety of game types and opponents. If you wanna play doubles, I'm sure there're plenty of open games out there.

I don't think there is a rule in restricting sending invites to low ranked players. Anyway, you risk in dropping more points if you do lose to a lower ranked player.

I exactly was playing such game. 2 even. Not knowing he invited low ranks. The low ranks didnt exactly listen, think. So they didnt make smart moves. I felt like playing 1vs2. With some lower ranked guy who doesnt do anything.

He doesnt risk them at all. He invites them so that they have never played the map. They just join up and easy points for him. They dont talk dont listen and dont speak. Later only when you say they are noobs then they do.
