CamelToe (Abusive Chat & Throwing Game) [noted]

Postby Mad Pineapples on Sun Aug 23, 2009 8:38 pm

Accused:

CamelToe

The accused are suspected of:
Abusive In-Game Language
Deliberately Throwing the Game

Game number:

Game 5478649

Comments:
"u shuld kill urself u pathetic shit face" -- I don't really mind comments like this too much. I've heard and said worse. But I'm sure there are other people who would be seriously offended by this kind of language, especially as this is meant to be a site suitable for families.
"I HELP RED WIN NOW" -- This, on the other hand, does annoy me. In the game, I was stuck in the middle. I had Blue building on one side, Red on the other. Blue was a more immediate threat so I attacked him. We ended up switching places and from then on I was in a good position. So, Blue, obviously annoyed by the outcome, decides to throw the game and consistently attack me whilst Red moves along the map with huge stacks.

I'm basically expecting a 'foe and move on' kind of thing here..

Possibly taking the idea of "trash talk" a step too far.

True.. But it's hard to take that seriously, whereas with the quotes I pointed out before, it's not.

The game chat I just find amusing.

Throwing the game however, is a pet hate of mine. Unless there is a past history of CamelToe throwing games in a hissy fit as he has done here, then I expect the response that will follow will either be a 'noted' or a 'warned' at most.

If I suicided into you I'd have been left with next to nothing. How, then, did I manage to take over the United Kingdom and hold onto it for several turns whilst you started suiciding me?

Artimis is correct I very much doubt this will get a warning, however CamelToe, you should realise that there is a difference between poor play and intentional game throwing, the claim that MP threw the game in the first instance and you reciprocated is false, MP may have missed some stacks in the fog, but he didn't throw the game, - throwing games requires motive. You did throw the game, you motive was anger. This kinda of thing happens from time to time, especially in fog, a player makes a bad call and screws your game up. It happens, it pisses you off, but your response should never be a violation of the rules as violations will surely beget sanctions. These problems occur less if you play games with more players, as opposing players mistakes have less impact on the game as a whole.

No Finch, what you fail to realize is that Pineapple was very aware of the other player's stacks since he was next to them as well. ( I know this because unlike you I was in the game hence was able to see this for myself) He saw the same stacks of 19, 17 and so on as I did yet continued to attack me, even stealing my bonuses which I had used to break the other player when he was the leader.

What you fail to also realize is that Pineapple is being a good little sore loser now and venting his frustration at me since I at least announced that I would no longer attack the other player as Pineapple had made it clear by his actions he was doing the same. Perhaps he expected me to continue after the other player for him to come away with the win. Frankly I don't care.

He played badly and as a result he lost. Now he wants vengeance, the same sort of vengeance he sought in the game when he continually suicided against me (knowing full well what the other guy had)

Grow up and get on with life. Seriously, this is ridiculous. A mere glance at the log will reveal the play and what a hypocritical lying sack of cat feces Pineapple is.

Stop talking bull. You wouldn't know if I could see all his stacks or not because there was fog of war! And just so you know, the only single stack I could see was on Constantinople, and that was only once I'd taken Sofia. I attacked you because I was stuck in the middle, a position where one rarely manages to pull off a win. Red was obviously going to go for me pretty soon so my only chance was to go through you and we'd end up swapping positions. It worked, and I would've had a shot at the game if you hadn't constantly suicided your troops into, allowing Red to gradually move his stacks ever forward.

LOL Umm...yeah I could seeing as I could see you next to me and next to him in those spots. You see, the way Fog of war works is that you can see who is next to you but not beyond. Hence I saw you next to me next to his stacks, but nice try :D

I could see once of stacks which was on Constantinople, like I said. I had nothing in the Russia Empire very soon into the game, which is where several of Red's stacks came from later.

i know more than a few members that have been given vacations for engaging in this very activity... i wonder what is going to happen here... just a reminder of some of the individuals that have been banned for doing this very thing:

owenshooter vs. paradicecity9
owenshooter vs. pimpdave
owenshooter vs. neptune1
owenshooter vs. ronc
owenshooter vs. kiddicus maximus
owenshooter vs. DaGimp
(resulting in my entire clan being banned for 24 hours for absolutely nothing)

i guess that precident only applies to me... in many cases, when filing the C&A form i was indeed proven correct in my accusations, but was given a ban to "cool off" or to "think about" my activities within the forums. hell, i was just given a perma-ban warning for a friendly exchange with pimpdave within a thread which didn't violate any thread or forum rules... and here i sit, reading something that surely meets the standards of those above skirmishes, yet will not result in the same outcome. i can't even post a C&A thread without getting it locked for fear of spam/flaming, even when the thread stays on topic for several pages. abusive game chat is a far more egregious problem within CC than posts within the forum, yet it isn't treated as such... these guys affect members that we never see in the forums, and often times drive members away (codeblue). abusive game chat needs to stop...-0

p.s.-oh yeah, there is the time i was called the N word in game chat and somehow received a 3 day ban for being offended... sigh...

For the game chat, if you find yourself in a game with someone who offends you, simply add the member in question to your foes list and his/her comments will disappear. As for the game throwing, I would need more than this to show evidence that he is grossly abusing the game with this type of behavior. For now this is noted.
