Some players have been farming extensively - even sending hundreds of PMs to the latest members to get them into their games.
This is a gross abuse of the game. It gives the New Recruit "victims" a poor first experience and reduces the chances of them sticking around. As farmers move up the scoreboard it also harms the competitive nature of Conquer Club - the scoreboard is meant to measure skill in the game, not "harvesting" techniques.
In accordance with the desires and feedback of the majority of the community, our rules and as a new leaf for 2009, it is our New Years resolution to make Newbie Farming forbidden. Members who continue this practice will receive point resets and then progressively longer website bans.
This does not mean you will get in trouble for joining a game here and there with many new recruits. We are only talking about the systematic targeting of new recruits.
We have taken the following measures to stop Newbie Farming:
* For New Recruits, we filtered out game options from the join page if they reduce the chance of new players reaching their 1st promotion (see here here and here).
* We shut down any usergroups with a focus on Newbie Farming.
* We are sending individual warnings to the Farmers Guild and select other users who have practiced farming in the past. These should be arriving soon.
If you don't officially receive a warning, consider this it...we may have overlooked you once, but we won't do it again.

alstergren and to the others, which part of lackattack's declarations/instructions that you don't understand? (Please refer to the paragraph which has been bold, italic and underline.)
Trust me when I say, I love to meet new people in real life hence I would just join new recruits game every now and then to welcome them into Conquer Club. For your information, whenever I feel that a new recruit who is struggling needs a helping hand in our game, I would gladly extent my assistance by imparting beginners *Hints & Tips* in the Game Chat.
I've received quite a lot of "friendly", "helpful" and "good strategy" tags from new recruits who I'd played against but I know my limits NOT to play such games by more than 1/3 of my total games. So, my hope is that they would actually have a pleasant gaming experience.
Thanks & best of regards.
Peace & Love.

You could always just not farm noobs, and just play people that have played 5 games. They would be just as new to conquer club, and would still probably need advice, and would give you the sense of meeting new people....
granted....not as many of them would be around as the ?'s, since so many of them leave without finishing their games, but thats kind of the point of the no farming ruleMOBAJOBG wrote:ok.

In response to your changed plan... Do you actually think that playing 30 new recruits inside of a month, most of which deadbeated as most do, actually is not farming? And if not, than what is farming, if not that?

I'm in favour of zero points for deadbeats of any new recruits and since I'm a freemium, I definitely don't want anybody to deadbeat.
As far as I'm concerned based on lackattack's "...joining a game here and there..." phrase, I've interpreted and understood it as "I won't get into any trouble if 2/3 of my games are played against non new recruits". Otherwise, please make it crystal clear with an illustration of facts and figures in the "New Years Resolution: Newbie Farming is not Cool" thread.

systematic, means joining lots of games against new recruits 10 would be farming, 20 most certainly... 30 in less than a month is crystal clear. I personally havent seen any more crystal clear cases, since the rule was established to be honest.

I'm the kind of person who would NOT intentionally break any official rules and regulations under whatsoever circumstances, had I know of those facts and figures earlier which you've presented I won't play more than 5 new recruit games out of every 100 games.
Thanks, AAFitz for taking the time and effort to provide a detailed explanation here. I've always wanted to challenge you in a 1vs1 game on World 2.1 map.
Kindly allow me to clarify and stress that the plain & simple motivation for me to play games in Conquer Club is to join (and not start, because my favourite colour is green) 1vs1 game against new recruits every now and then but still within 1/3 out of my every 100 games with the sole intention to extent my assistance for those who are struggling by imparting beginners *Hints & Tips* in the Game Chat. I don't care about points, period. My hope is that those new recruits whom I've advised, have learn something beneficial to improve upon their gameplay so that they can approach their next and future games more confidently. When I can't do what I really love to do, perhaps the time has come for me to retire from this fabulous site and move on in life that is to take over from my wife the role to put fertiliser around and water the plants in my spare time.
I apologise (in advance if I've committed any wrongdoings) to the site owner, lackattack for any harm that I've created or done due to my ignorance of the site's official rules and regulations which I certainly did not mean to abuse.

You'd seriously deserve it.
Here we were all thinking that your win rate reflected the kind of personality who enjoyed picking fights with chaps a third of their weight, but we've in fact now all realised that it actually reflects your naturally giving, alturistic nature!
Bravo that man! I can but think you run an aids clinic in deepest darkest Africa, or teach autistic children how to make friends, or train guide dogs for the blind in your spare time... when you're not organising green peace's efforts against nuclear testing of course.

In my residential community, I'm a willing volunteer who contributes my spare time and effort freely without any monetary gains or compensation to resolve all disputes and complaints as well as service whatever requests that are raised by the people.
Unfortunately, I can't do the Big Undertakings which you've described now or ever but this does not deter me to work on the smallest of issues which I can perform successfully.

That's lovely. However, any chap who claims he joins noob games because he prefers the colour green (barf!) and has a 85% win rate because he enjoys teaching noobs how to play (hoot!) rather than because of some sad attempt to gain points against the incapable, is rather failing the old credibility test don't you think?
Come on, just admit it! You enjoy farming! Glory in your achievement! Don't lower yourself by spouting out all this crap.

After I've read all the comments in this thread again, I've reached a decision that JR24 is right "JUST DONT PLAY NEW RECRUITS. Its that simple." and will simply just retire from here now.
