Use the larger map! Or get a pair of glasses! :p

Yes they block. It's obvious I think. The only small gap I can see is in the trees between Mgarr and Ghajn Tuffieha but I think it's clear that they are impassable.

Edit: Fixed trees in Mgarr and Ghajn Tuffieha if you look at the map again

Yes, the others are obvious. And the 1 you fixed is also really obvious now.

I can read them at 1280 x 1024 on the small map! Don't know what I can do about that. However I prefer to use large map setting.

ruben you will have problems with circle in small map, i think that numbers will not fit in army circle, but you will se when you start with XTML. These its only problem what stay.

No they will fit. I checked the size of the circles with the ones on existing maps. At least I hope they will!

Hmm the problem is that they won't fit...I used the standard map and just resized it to get the smaller map. Does anyone know of a better way? Maybe I've made the smaller one too small and I should make it slightly larger?

I have resized it (to 600x450) as I told you before. The fonts won't fit in the space I have if I enlarge them. I can post a 650x488 version of the map if you prefer that one instead of the current small version. Else if you have some other ideas on the whole resizing process I will try them and see if the result is better.

Andy I have addressed all the major issues of this map. I believe it is worthy of the status of Final Forge until I work on the XML. What do you think?

Ok, I understand what Wisse is saying, but I see no solution to it. The font is on the small side, but I can still read it. Not an issue for me anyway, I use the large map.

I think that you should perhaps swap some territory names and army shadows around, for Nofsinhar ta' Ghawdex inparticular. I think it's more important to have the army shadows completely in the territory rather than the name.

Tramuntana ta' Ghawdex looks a little cramped. If you move some borders around slightly, you will have more room for your army shadows.

Apart from those minor adjustments I'd say your just about done. Looking forward to seeing the xml done and being one step closer to finally playing this map. It's definately Final Forge worthy, I think the gameplay is solid.

Hello
Thought i'd mention that you have a really awesome map here.
Looks really well done visually as well as just gameplay strategy
Far more creative and original than any of the current Final forge maps out there.
Really looking forward to playing this one.

Anyways, lets take a quick look.

Regarding both maps, consider boosting the border line, and perhaps making it darker so it can stand out a little more.

The trees are looking nice, I'd add another tree near the Mell. and San Pawl., as in the northwest it looks like they sort of border.

Perhaps another tree on west side of Ghajn and Mgarr.

More hills near west Bahrija and Dingli.

Regarding all hills, trees, and mountains, make them all a little more dense...especially the mountans and hills.

As for the small map...you must definitely increase the size of the names. They are barely readable. In most cases there is ample room. There are a few you might have to play around with a little more. Many, many people use only the small map, so it must be up to par with the large map. Also, the army shadows look perhaps too small, I'm not sure.

Also, it never bugged me before, but I'm not a big fan of the white font on the land. Is it absolutely necessary, as is black unreadable? I can't recall.

While not ideal, you could always hyphenate some of the names. For example Marsaskala could be

Okay I will work on those minor graphic amendments. However, may I point out that other maps that have similar minor graphic amendments have already made it to final forge and I believe that my map should have reached final forge status like the others...

Seriously, why does everyone worry about being final forged? Most likely, you will all remain in it for a number of days or weeks. :)

Okay does that mean that I will skip the final forge phase completely and get quenched? How does that sound Andy? ;) Hehe.

Don't get me wrong, I understand why map makers are itching for that Final Forge stamp on their map. But having been there, it doesn't really change anything as there's still work to do. So don't stress Ruben, you're not really any further behind those maps with the Final Forge brand anyway.

As hard as it may be to do, forget Final Forge, forget about the finish line, just keep churning away. Map making is a marathon and you're on the home stretch IMO. 8)
