karelpietertje [Settled]

Postby corwin416 on Thu Jun 11, 2009 9:16 pm

Accused:

Karelpietertje

The accused are suspected of:
Other: "Farming" new players by using "clickable" maps without the knowledge or consent of the other player!

Karelpietertje admitted to using "clickable" maps but apparently deleted his comments from the game. Obvious from his game strategy and play speed that he is just looking to boost his ratings.

Game number(s):

Game 5067993

Comments:

If "clickable" maps were part of the game, there should be a game option. Players should be warned/notified that other players are using tools that may cause unbalanced game play. Any "official" plug-ins used should be displayed prominently before the start of the game.

Thanks,
Corwin416

Clickable maps are in no way a cheat, nor really in my opinion is there any requirement that other players be told of them, due to the fact that they are a commonly-known thing. I believe this "case" will simply result in a "foe and rate accordingly" statement, as it should.

sorry but

plugins are not a cheat and anyone is able to use them. Just think of your loss as a lesson on why you should get clickable maps.

Hold it... First he joined his game, so why should he rate the person who's game he joined low after losing? 2nd Clickable maps are not a cheat and therefore not cheating. Nobody has to say if they are using them or not, but KP did tell him to do a forum search for them. This guy got totally outplayed after joining a high ranks game, then calls him a cheater for using CM? It should be KP foe him and move on. Leave a bad rating if you do not like being called a cheater for using CM.

He's already done the Foe List part because he said the chat comments disappeared.

Clickable maps are not illegal. If you would like to get them for yourself, please visit the Plugins&Addons Forum.

Clickable maps was created as an addon to the game. It is not a requirement but a personal preference to use it. Some people swear by it and others dont like it at all. The actual addon is located in the plugins and addons section here. The addon has been fully endorsed and accepted by team CC. My suggestion would be to try it and see what you think.

You seem to have overlooked a number of things, Bruceswar:

1) I stated that clickable maps are in no way a cheat.
2) I also stated that there is no requirement that other players be told of them.
3) As to "so why should he rate the person who's game he joined low after losing", he HAS ALREADY FOE'D THE GUY, for which a LOGICAL EXTENSION would be to rate that person poorly. If you'll kindly read what I wrote, I certainly wasn't telling him to rate karel poorly, I was telling him to rate the guy as he sees fit (which is what he should do).

Indeed you did mentioned CM was not a cheat. I semi combined my thoughts. just so happens I quoted you. He lost and is sour over CM. That is not a valid reason to rate someone low. First thing this person screams out in chat is "CHEATER" Had I played this person he would have surely got a lower rank for attitude than most. KP said nothing to warrant a 1. Losing a game because you did not have CM does not warrant a 1 either. I bet KP gets all 1's from him. Ratings abuse as I see it if that happens.

Let this be a lesson to you to avoid games where you know you will have a great disadvantage going in. I will not play speed freestyle games since I have huge lag, and I know that if I try to, the other players will run circles around me.

Simple questions for all you "wise" game sages.

Q. Why is there no mention of "clickable maps" in the rules or instructions.
Q. Where is this option in the Control Panel or Game Settings?

Oh, just because I haven't spent days perusing the forums for some buried treasure, I should just "know" about this "feature"? "Aural" history is no excuse for poor documentation.

This is a problem with the basic game's documentation and software configuration. Don't blame the user for a lack in the software.

Regarding calling Karelpietertje a cheat was too strong now that I understand there are some unwritten rules in this game that allow unfair, unbalanced game play.

NOTE: In most two player console games, when one player uses a "cheat", the software MAKES the other player aware of it's use.

There are a lot of us that do not play fog games. They are very difficult when against an experience player. Why don't you check out the society of cooks, they teach some basic skills that might help, and they will help you get the plug-ins working.

It's not an official site feature. If it were, I'm sure it would be in places such as the Instructions and/or Personal Menu. You can find information about it in this forum: http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=59.
