these americans that come on a thread about football and slag it of makes me laugh. this dick in a white suit what the f*ck is he going on about, league cup quarter final liverpool 3 arsenal 6 that is not 1 - 0 is it. see with americans you have to simplify every game so they can understand it. they have not got the same kind of passion as we have for football the excitement when you score an injury time equaliser, like city scored 4 minutes into injury time against everton to get a draw. the delight on the players faces, the wild jumping up of the fans and just the pure pleasure of scoring it is fantastic. i have been to 100,s of games some may be boring, but the excitement is still there, the euphoria when you score an important goal you could jump up and hug a complete stranger and would not care because they are just as excited as you. so like been said before if you do not like it, keep your stupid veiws to yourself. i would not dare go on a thread about american football and slag that of because they are all padded up like pansies.

don't generalize that statement for all americans. i am american and i love football and my team (arsenal) with all my heart. if you look back through this topic you will see that. i have played football since kindergarten and have never experienced anything better then scoring the go ahead goal late in a game. It saddens me to think that most of my countrymen will never experience this feeling, but people like you generalizing about americans also saddens me. Just because most of my country doesn't love the game doesn't mean fans don't exist.

less goals means more excitement, because they come spontaneously. in other sports, such as baseball or cricket, you continuously get points and the only excitement is at the end hearing the final result i guess.

anyway, everyone has different views so if you want to hate football (or soccer) then do it (discreetly...) while us will continue to discuss the premiership :) :)

Extreemly predictable as we r the best teem in Europe on our day

I think that if this white suited weirdo opened his mind he would love the game. I enjoy watching baseball and am a keen player of Basketball, their not my favourite sports but i have accepted them and enjoy them.

Wel done Arsenal on not gettin knocked out, we were all ovr them. Now for the tough leg at the Reebok

No, I didn't say that. There would still only be 1 or 2 scores a game. Soccer need to find away to increase scoring, and add variety to the ways you can score.

Stop talking utter dribble, Itā€™s a beautiful game. You only thing I would change is; The Referees need to get strictor on the Diving and Backchat thing.

Jamie, would you take away the keepers hands, because if you would, that would b contradicting because you said earlier that football is rubbish because you can't use your hands. How would you make the game more enjoyable... if you kick the ball over the goal u get points?

Like many of my fellow youngsters I have ADHD, possibly brought on by watching sports games that come to a halt every 5 minutes to sell me stuff, and I can't handle anything that might carry on uninterrupted for 45 minutes.

Why're you even bothering arguing with the idiots?

Football is the most popular sport in the world by a massive margin. If the fatties in the States are too stupid to appreciate it, then f*ck 'em, their loss.. just another reason not to like them.

Hey hey hey, don't lump us all in there... I played football (soccer) for 15 years total between schools and intermurals... I watch MLS whenever I can, and love watching the World Cup...

We don't all suck over here... And we're not all fat, either... *grin*

No, those are the sports which have the most active players. Neither is anywhere near as watched as football.

And @ Anarkistsdream: I wasn't calling ALL Americans fat idiots, just the ones that happen to be fat idiots :-)

I hate games that have so many pauses between action... Baseball, golf, football, and sometimes even some basketball games REALLY frigging drag...

European football and tennis are the only two guaranteed to remain fast-paced...

Wasn't this thread to do with who'll win the league? It's becoming a debate about what sport everyone thinks is the shittest...

I'm definately saying Man U to win the league, but i'm hoping for the treble

I love watching a good game of football, i can't see how anyone can say it's boring :-k

The only thing wrong with football, is the crappy officials who don't award a goal when it CLEARLY crosses the line...

I agree, lets get back to the topic of the premiership. Btw that is payback for Carrol letting in Mendes goal gainst Totenahm last season, so don't comnplain it will happen 2 everyone until they use TV for goals

The one carrol let in was questionable, as a man u fan, i don't think it actually cross the line...It was a trick of the lights  but seriously, I agree, it goes both ways...but teams can get knocked out of important cups because the officials have their heads up their arse :)
