Letters updated, games sent. Sorry for it being a bit late than what I said it'd be.

Just so that I don't accidentally miss this while updating next round:

So, this is a really fun tournament, but I just realized that we're going to be playing it until the dawn of time. A total of 148 letters is needed to complete the puzzle. In my quick overview, I think I saw that amazzony is the closest with 40. That's less than 30% of the required total. The first round of games were sent out on Oct. 5.

Is there any way we could speed it along?

My top suggestions are
*3 games per round (I'm not sure how many freemiums there are)
*2 sets of 5 letters per win (previous wins included)

I would actually be in favor of implementing both of these. Looking forward to thoughts from anyone else.

Best,
L

Okay, I was in a game that was waiting for an opponent and it disappeared. I've only played 1 round 7 game. What happened to my other one?

It got dropped because games that haven't started in 15 days will automatically disappear. I don't know if ditto will remake them or not, that's up to her. btw, I lost one game also because it wasn't joined.

I did try to make a... smart crossword but nevertheless I have appr. 21% of letters gathered (just for the sake of numbers :P).

I agree, speeding it up would be great because I'm just afraid that otherwise this tournament will never end or it will but with very few players who have played since beginning. Of course, slower speed won't be a problem to me personally because I plan to stick around for a long time and I like Crossword map a lot :D

I will be looking into this and finding out the missing player.

I'll think this over. I believe that there is only one freemium [Glenghis].

But I'm kind of annoyed because half the people [as you can see by the scoreboard], haven't even sent in a letter, which kind of holds up the tourney. I'll be PMing ANYBODY who hasn't sent in 1 letter [so if you've sent in one letter, you're off the hook...for now], a messaging seeing if they really want to play. That might also speed up the tourney.

I might be willing to implement the first of the suggestions [provided if Glenghis or any other freemiums that I missed out] agree to it. The second one is a meh, sort of thing, though I may consider upping the value of each win to 7 or 8 letters [you'd be allowed to change if I do such a thing, for all of those who've already done a crossword. :geek: ] Anyway, next update will be sometime during Easter weekend [April 10-13].

Thanks for considering these changes.

I'm annoyed for you that it's so difficult to get people to ask for letters. When you're playing in a tournament, it's common courtesy to post notification of victories to the thread. In this case, winners should also request their letters.

Always nice to run into another Hog fan on CC. I think there are enough of us that we could make our own clan. :)

If games aren't filled w/in 2 weeks, they disappear.

Kimi is going to be replaced by Tammy...unless people decide to dropout because they don't feel that they are actually participating enough in this tourney.

Also, some people...have apparently been very annoying by either A) not joining both games or B) joining one game...so 7 games have to be redone. Which I'm leaving for tomorrow...because I also need to do some other stuff...and because this is also going to likely get an update next weekend for the rest of you guys. -Sorry for any inconveience this has or will cause-

Also, the annoying group of people haven't been sent that letter confirming their existence...so that will wait until tomorrow.

In other news, Glenghis has agreed to 3 games. To all those non-premiums because your premiums expired, all freemiums are required to only join 2 games, and then add on a third...[or they can join all 3 at a time...to be nice :)]...but if you do this, please don't make me remind you.

I think that's it for now, but you might hear from me again if I forget something.

Hey ditto,

I'd like an S and an E for my round 5 & 6 wins, please. I joined two round 7 games but they both got cancelled due to the lack of an opponent.

Okay, I'm not going to update it today, but will try in the next couple of days. I was just waiting for a couple of responses from the no-letter-givers. If they don't respond by tomorrow, they're out of the tourney.

Also, for those of you who did not get two round 7 games, will be recieving them in the mix of round 8...I lost count of what round we're on :(

Okay, I'm going to try and put the games up, 24 needed [in fact...not that much more than last time :?] since Kimi, Shoop, Natalya and Ironsky have dropped out/not responded, etc. Since that leaves an even number, there will be no need for reserves.

I'm going to update the letters hopefully this weekend, being that I'm busy this week >.> [and my schedule will free up over the weekend.]

Just to remind myself.

There is a rough, [like very rough] sketch of what Round 7 letters look like, since I've had a bit of time to update this, but I'm hoping to get it slowly updated over the course of this week. And...I think I have to rearrange Round 8 games due to me getting a mis-calculation >.>

Round 7 scoreboard updated. I feel so good that I have to copy less and less coloured ones over [I have to do those manually, since they don't update from my excel to the annoying google docs, but whatever...it's better than print screen and photobucket-ing XD]. But still, it feels good.

noretreat has yet to join his/her games, and if not joining by Friday, I will pull a reserve in, since I don't want to remake them >.>. Round 9 games will hopefully be sent out by Sat. And those who have "unconfirmed letters" will be recieving a nice, lovely PM from me sometime next week. Because it IS ANNOYING to copy over the formatting of the cells.

Round 8 will be updated after all games are finished, which would hopefully be by the sat. after this one. =D
