rude members - koolBak [Foe List]

What is it with this site? I join up on a friends recommendation, I play a few games..it's kinda' fun. Then I play a 3-way map with a guy named koolBak. Me and my friend (who invited me) are in a bad spot at the start, so I recommend an alliance. Alliances are common amongst players in other games, so I suggested it. koolBak says he doesn't want any alliances. I reluctantly agree - but I do agree, without being a jerk.

The game continues, koolBak constantly threatens us of cheating. I can handle that. Maybe because my friend an I know each other play was a little biased, but it wasn't an all-out alliance. Were new players after all.

Then koolBak goes on a profane trip with us, like this is his own private site. Maybe koolBak is in tight with everyone on this site, and it's OK for him to treat new players like crap. Fine, let me know now so I can find another site.

Is it normal to get PM's from members like this:

"I thot you were quitting this horrendous site, you fucking tool
You and yer lil friend won't be able to play together anyway (very soon)."

1.He was only talking to you in-game, not through PMs. If he really did send you abusive PMs, then you can PM a mod about it with the message included.
2.It is often considered "cheap" to form alliances in 3-player games. However, since you said that you formed it because you were in a weak position, you can leave the appropriate ratings for him and put him on your foe list.

That is KoolBak alright

Anything that will go against his grain, he will blow it out of proportion and will remember you for years and always sticking knives into your back. Using foul language mostly (he does not seem to know any other). Just foe him and try to ignore his jabs. Don't let one bad player to spoil your enjoyment of the site

Seriously, he's an asshole. You'll probably get bad ratings too, and all he'll do is spout some shit and rant about getting you two banned. He's an idiot, let him be. Use the "foe list" feature, and move on. Enjoy the site.

Every other player on the site has been quite friendly. I just wanted to make sure this wasn't a good 'ol boy site.

Go to his profile page and click "add foe", he won't be allowed to join games wiht you anymore.

The fact that you and your friend joined a 3 way game, and then formed an alliance would piss me off too. Not only are alliances in 3 way games the cheapest of the cheap, but it also smacks of being pre-planned. Do you and this friend form alliances in standard games every time you play? After a quick look, I see that, other than the game in question, you've only played 1v1, and dubs with your friend, but I would be careful in the future. Even if you were acting in good faith, I can see how it might easily be mistaken for favouring friends in standard games.

Selective comprehension is a wonderful thing. Did you even read my whole post? I know it was oh so long, but it shouldn't take long to get to the last sentence. Here. I'll post it again so that the slow kids have some time to catch up.

Actually I'm a Florida boy, living in Thailand. koolBak knows we live here, and that's why he poked at us. My friends was trying to find someone to play a game because our time zone is the opposite of Eastern time. We end up usually waiting 24 hours for each turn, instead of waiting only a few hours.

I agree the alliance situation could be taken the wrong way, that's why I agreed not to form one. I attacked both sides equally, but I had good position in Africa. My friend repeatedly pounded through Africa trying to nab my spoils, but koolBak was still pretty mean about it. I think my friend attacked him after that in spite.

I won't join any three way games from now on just to avoid the potential problems with people thinking in secret alliances.

I'm still pretty happy with the site, I won't let one member ruin it for me.
