Getting rid of the boats would make the map way too small for my taste.

I voted for the second option. If you get rid of them, not only will the territories on the map be shrunk, but you will have a whole lot of wasted space because it is a linear map.

Wow, first time looking at this map, and i think it looks wonderful!

1) The word Atlantic is a little distracting, maybe make it bigger, a slightly brighter blue than the ocean (or maybe white?), curve it a bit, and set it on overlay or lower the opacity or both? Just an idea :)
2) The font doesn't really fit, maybe a different one? Heres some that I think might fit well (top to bottom: Optimus Princeps, Spinwerad, Day Roman, Perma Petit):

Image

Or if you dont like any of those, theres more here:
http://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=502 ... classt=pop

3) The big border at the far left end seems a bit much. Maybe lower the opacity a little?
4) The boats attack lines seem wrong, maybe just dotted lines? and lower the opacity a bit?

Good job so far =D>

it's only my impression or the borders in several places are not closed? i mean, for example, between North Brookheaven and smithtown.

Im from long island and i like this map.. I voted to keep the boats but to change them.. a suggestion i have is this.. Longisland has many ferry terminals orient point on the north fork out east ,, shelter island ferry ... the island between the two forks which i dont think is included in the map. also a ferry in port jefferson which is in north brookhaven that connects to bridge port connecticut if you were going to incorporate that into the map.. the orient point ferry also connects to connecticut new london.. Theres a ferry in oyster bay which is nassau county... i beleive north hempstead but not 100 percent positive.. Theres also a jones beach ferry a fire island ferry and a patchogue ferry .. if you need any other insight and think you like this idea feel free to pm me and i will help with the info..

There hasn't been an update to this map since Feb 20th, and you've had 4 pages of comments since then...

Why do you have planes?

Isn't that a bit to short of a distance to travel like that?

Hmm are you doing graphic for Treasure map to?
When i look these map and treasure map i have feel that these is work from some other map maker.
Here you have very good borders(same borders),and map have some order.
One thing what will i recomending is that create smaler boats and to put circles close to boats not on boats.
Again i thing that you have to big circles.

This map looks good, and has relatively straight-forward gameplay. I'm not too sure about the airports, and am not sure that they serve any real purpose.

Having said that, this map is now at the stage where it no longer looks or feels like a draft

I noticed something to fix.

ARMy CIRCLES

Replace these army circles:
Cedarhurst, try to switch cirlce and territory names.
Northboorlhaven, center tha circle in the territory
Bridge Hampton, circle has to be moved lower
South Hampton, thy this circle is so left?

COLORS
Colors are good, i can distinguish them very easily, don't change them!
But why Long beach, Jones beach, fire island and roger's beach haven't the same effect that other territories have?

AIRPORTS
Useless, and if you choose not to remove them, fix the plane symbol.
The right wing is horrible (sorry, but i can't find a better word :? )
You can find better symbols, but anyways i strongly suggest you to remove them.

Finally, some borders, like SE Brookhaven/fire island aren't complete
And the large border on the left of the map (limit to the neutral zone) is too bold, and seems to be made in 5 mis of PS...

For now i have no more suggestions, but keep this map on because could be a good map, specially for speed games in my opinion, if you will develope a good gameplay ;)

Thanks Ben! :D
Also we are thinking about making the Atlantic boats look different from the LIS boats. What do you all think?

Could be a good choice for two reasons:

1. they could be easier to find
2. you can make 2 different colors for bonuses names

good choice!

Fixing the right wing on the planes seems like something which would have been easier to do before you put it on the map, but it still needs to be done.

What is up with that big, thick, black line separating playable area from non-playable. I would change that, either get rid of it or make it thinner

There airplanes are a good idea!
What are you going to replace them with?
