I might suggest the background alternating colors behind the family groups

oVo...thanks for posting, haven't seen you in a while.
If you read the legend it says that Gods border Emperors but not each other, therefore from that Emperors only have access to the Gods.
I had tried as part of the testing for this the different colour scheme for families but it did not work well. It was very messy.
And there is the added issue that some had two marriages, one each side, so to colour for that would be extra messy.
I think the red background is entirely appropriate with white as these are the colours we so often see depicted of togas - white with the red stripe.
Yes it is bricky, and a bit clunky, but then important Rome buildings were built by may of these people brick by brick. Thus i think it is entirely suitable.
