I have deleted the poll for you, so you can be free to go ahead and make a new one ;-)

Hi the.killing.44,

I'm not keen on the outline of the island. Can you thin them out a little?
Also, do you have plans to make sea more 'sea-like'?

It's good to see the versions getting better.

By "island" do you mean the two (Cheju and Ullongdo), or just one of them? But yes, in any case, I see what you mean. It is the same brush size as the peninsula, but the size of the island(s) create an optical illusion that makes them seem bigger. I will work on that.

Also, do you have plans to make sea more 'sea-like'?
Probably. I most likely won't add a texture that pops out, as it contrasts the map's feel, but I'll experiment some.

It's good to see the versions getting better.

I like your addition of the DMZ, it is a very important part of the politics of the countries today, but I don't like any of your uses for it. I suggest you just make it impassable and add a few more sea routes.

Also, I can't tell whether Kanggye borders Kangpye or not. You might want to extend that mountain range or move the borderline a bit. Also, your sea lines are still in need of an improvement.

I love the font you've used for the title... not too sure how Korean it is, but I love it nonetheless! It's much better than the one you've used elsewhere, which I'm struggling to read.

You're definitely moving in the right direction with this map now, although the borders are way too thick! It feels like there is a lot of unused space on the map itself too.

It looks like you're going to struggle to fit army number into a lot of territories - it might be worth starting with the small version of the map so you don;t create problems for yourself with legibility/visibility issues later ;-)

I like the idea of killer neutrals on the DMZ - they're not used on many maps right now, and might make the DMZ reflect real-life... as it stands, the -1 autodeploy doesn't quite feel right, as it would leave an easy-to-cross no-mans land rather than some kind of barrier.

The mountains are going to need some work

I wonder if it would be worth adding a route from Ullongdo island to Hyesan or something? (I'm not too sure what the territory names are as I can't read the font very clearly)

Hmm…well frankly I like the idea of killer neutrals as it is a bit of a compromise, but I will leave it up to the Foundry.

Also, I can't tell whether Kanggye borders Kangpye or not. You might want to extend that mountain range or move the borderline a bit.
Yes, the mountains are rudimentary. I'll go over them with a finecomb when I get back from a party I'm going to.
Also, your sea lines are still in need of an improvement.
I utterly despise them myself :D

Hmm, I'll make them all the title's font and see where that gets me. I just used that font because it fit the Korean/oriental brush stroke feel. 8-)

I'll reduce the size of the borders, seeing how multiple people think that. This refers to the overall, islands, and bonuses, am I correct?

It looks like you're going to struggle to fit army number into a lot of territories - it might be worth starting with the small version of the map so you don;t create problems for yourself with legibility/visibility issues later ;-)
Good idea, I'll work on that.

My thoughts exactly

The mountains are going to need some work
Yep, those were just to symbolize the impassables borders in the meanwhile. I'll take more time on them

I wonder if it would be worth adding a route from Ullongdo island to Hyesan or something? (I'm not too sure what the territory names are as I can't read the font very clearly)
That's what I was thinking, ian thought otherwise. I'll see

DMZ should be neutral at the start of every round to represent the general isolation between North Korea and South Korea (but of course, that isolation has become less severe now)

Well, I have determined that a 1v1 on this map should turn into the most utterly equal 1v1 there can be, besides strategy and dice of course.
North Korea: bonuses add up to 16, amount of territories is 20
South Korea: bonuses add up to 16, amount of territories is 20
:P

The bonus for hayonggang-do should be 2 just because if you take hemyong-bettko it will be easy to take hayonggang-do and then the total bonus is +5 for a 6 territ 2 boarder bonus.

The middle bonus is way too blue. It stands out too much.
Also you never addresed my concerns about the top two bonuses.
And also, the western most north bonus (the light green one) should not be 4 since it only has 3 borders and half of another bonus in it. 3 is probably better.

UPDATES:
  • better blue color
  • more difference between two reds
  • fixed up minimap

TO-DO
  • small map
  • clarify where Ullongdo connects to

Concerning bonuses…
I ran them all through WM's bonus calculator, made Hamyong-Namdo (blue) 5 and Pyongang-Namdo (light green) 3. These will change if I add a second route from Ullongdo to Hyesan. Of course, they are always under discussion ;) .

Thanks for your continued interest, all.

P.S. Looks like killer neutrals is going to win in a landslide.
Poll results:
Which should the DMZ be?
1. killer neutral — 13 votes — 68%
2. -1 man — 1 vote — 5%
3. -2 men — 2 votes — 11%
4. other — 1 vote — 5%
5. nothing — 1 vote — 5%
6. no DMZ — 1 vote — 5%
total votes — 19

2. Make another mountain range
3. I like the texture

I like the map jake, but i think it would look better if the land to the north would have a more distinct border with the water. It's just soemthing to experiment with

I don't think I will, excluding Ullongdo possibly being like an Isle of Man.
Also
1. Rework bonus scale

Alright. If you're going to give suggestions it would be so much better recieved if you didn't just command vague things.

Between sepo and munchen because sepo can be attacked by 6 other territs
