I want to get my motorcycle license..any suggestions? Meaning on how to get a bike to practice on even though I'm not licensed? Is there some kind of biker driving school?

I highly recommend riding off road on trails etc. you need to trailer the bike there unless you live near some private land or a place designated for off road vehicles. However you won't need to deal with cars and probably don't need a bike license.

You still would be well off to take a course unless, most of them supply a bike.

Yellow pages are a good place to look and talk to the places that sell motorcycles in your area. The harley web site has listings probably by area.

http://www.msf-usa.org/

And your local DMV......

LISTEN TO ME: If you have never ridden, it would sincerely behoove you to try and find someone witha minibike or moped for you to practice on...starting / stopping / riding without dragging your damn feet.

TAKE A CLASS OR 6....Everyone is out to get you; you CANNOT sightsee, EVER.

Take this step carefully......my sister did this without ever riding previously and is a contientious, careful rider but has been very close to trouble....without experience in emergencies, you are always in danger.....

My few pennies....BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KoolBak-
I would never ride alone so don't worry about that. I do know a guy who could guide me some ..He has a set of twins so I'm sure he'd have to have someone watch them but other then that I'm sure he'd be willing to help although i doubt he'd let me drive lol. I need driving experience from somewhere lol. i'll check the site out that you gave me though! I'll ask the DMV too maybe they have a suggestion or two for me too? Who knows but its worth a try!

Years ago I used to be a safety instructor with the Canada Safety Council. Trust me....your money is well spent by taking a course for beginners! We used to start out by assuming everyone could ride a bicicle, and go from there. By the end of the course you can do controlled wheelies (to get over curbs or hazards) + recover from skids, do emergency avoidance turns, etc. Its even possible u may get a cut on yer insurance by taking a course, but either way....please take one. Remember: Bikers are killed every day by the "just didnt see him officer" drivers out there.......learn to ride properly, break any bad habits you already have riding (I had to!).....and welcome to the wind. 8)

No kidding Glide.

If anyone wishes they were invisible, just buy them a motorcycle, especially in the spring.

Every car I see I think about what direction they are coming from and to and how they can get me if I don't make sure they can't.
