Other: <Having an obnoxiously large signature>

Comments: Nothing against this user, but in the forums, it is really annoying to see his sig take up so much space. It's obvious his signature isn't 150 pixels high by 600 pixels wide.

Doesn't it normally automatically size the signature down, giving it a slide bar ??

Correct me if I'm wrong, but maybe that is a bug ?

I thought it did that too, but I have heard many instances where mods have asked people to make their sigs smaller, making me think that it doesn't give it a slide bar.

No, we [mods] do not, but if he does not change it, he will be given a forum vacation. Also, as a side note, you can get BOB and have it turn off forum signatures.

The signature was gone before the warning was sent. When I saw the thread first made, I went to check his signature, and it was already gone.

Plus, a warning seems a bit extreme for an oversized signature..

The signature is still there. Also, this is how oversize signature issues have been handled in the past.

Maybe it is the use of the word warned, that has negative connotations... perhaps, you should have just said PM had been sent recommending a change. I think when I received a PM from wicked once for an oversized sig, it was just a could you desize it please... wouldn't describe it as a warning.

why? i've been contacted multiple times by twill to let me know my sig was too big... just normal operating procedure...-0

There are two different versions of warnings, friendly and formal. Pretty much all first comment warnings regarding signatures (or most other guideline infractions) are of the friendly variety. Friendly warnings are designed to remind a user that they may have crossed the line just a bit but gives them an opportunity to rectify the issue.
