FA cup.semi-finals

Red Stick Cajuns(lsu) v TR Clowns (panc)
Emo United(sam) v Down Under United(iliad)

Semi-final 1
The first semi final sees league leaders RSC take on TR Clowns. TRC have been a thorn in the side of the top 3 sides in the CCPL with 4 draws and just one loss, they will be hoping to go one better tonight and get a rare victory. Red Stick will still be confident of progression considering they have only been beaten once by TWAT back on matchday 3.

Teams:
Red Stick Cajuns (lsu)
1. Buffon, 30, World Class
2. Ashley Cole 27, Excellent
3. Clichy 22, Excellent
4. Quaresma, 24, World Class
5. Alonso, 26, Excellent
6. C. Ronaldo 23, Footballing God
7. D. Bent, 24, Excellent
8. Lucas 21, Very Good
9. Kranjcar 23, Good
10. Zarate, 21, Very Good
11. Huddlestone, 21, Good

TRC (panc)
1. Freidel, 36, Excellent
2. Terry, 27, World Class
3. Carragher 30, Excellent
4. Barnes 19, Excellent
5. Flamini 24, Excellent
6. Deco, 31 World Class
7. Van Nistilrooy, 32, World class
8. Hutton 23, Excellent
9. Hargreaves, 27, Excellent
10. Shevchenko, 31, Excellent

Match Report:
Red stick started the quicker of the two sides and managed to get the first chance of the match after 5 minutes. Quaresma played a cross field pass out to Ronaldo who controlled the ball well first time. He then sped off down the wing and with a few trademark stepovers he went past Barnes and then swung a cross in for Bent. The striker managed to get himself a few clear yards and he headed down into the ground, the ball bounced back up and past Freidel. It went a foot wide that was a good opportunity.

Clowns came back at them trying to open up the Red Stick defence; Deco got his opportunity on 28 minutes after a rare mistake by Ronaldo. He got caught in possession just 25 yards from his own goal; van Nistilrooy made the challenge and then squared a pass to the advancing Deco. Deco nicked the ball past Clichy and then side footed the ball towards the bottom corner, beffon got down well and got a strong hand on it to take it away from the goal.

The rest of the first half went by without major incident, both sides looked lively but neither could break down the opposition defence.

The second half, however, started off at a high tempo and the first 10 minutes were filled with chances for both teams. The best of those chances fell to RSC. Alonso played the ball wide for Quaresma who found himself with plenty of room. He pushed forward and entered a race with Carragher, he beat him to the by line and cut a cross back across goal. Ronaldo went up for a header but Terry headed it clear. It fell to Bent on the edge of the box who took a touch before thumping it into the top corner. Red Stick Cajuns 1-0 Transvestite Rodeo Clowns.

TRC pushed hard in search for an equaliser to get back level once more. Flamini moved through the field and then played a firm pass through to Van nistilrooy, who played it first time to Deco. The Portuguese star advanced and the RSC defence backed off, he lined up to take a shot when Ashley Cole slid in to stop him. The ball ran loose and was picked up by Barnes. He then played the ball back to Deco who shot at goal. The ball moved in the air but Buffon still managed to get a touch to it, the touch only knocked it into the net. Red Stick Cajuns 1-1 Transvestite Rodeo Clowns.

The game had an air of predictability about it and neither side looked like getting a winner before the end of 90 minutes. That was until TR Clowns got a great chance on 88 minutes. Barnes beat Clichy on the wing and looped a cross into the area. Buffon came out of his goal and punched it away but only as far as Deco. With the keeper off his line Deco just had to guide it through a group of players, which he did and get it between the posts which he failed to do as the ball came back off the left hand post.

Red Stick Cajuns 1-1 Transvestite Rodeo Clowns.

I should have known with you playing panc, what to do about the draw? I see a few options:

1. Penalties by users- Each person picks 5 penalty takers and which direction to take each penalty, they also choose which way the keeper dives on each penalty. If they match keeper saves else itā€™s a goal.

2. Penalties by me- Based on ability of players and randomness I write a short piece of coding for penalties.

3. Extra time then penalties- I run the game again, I produce extra time report based on the result. If its still a tie then penalties.

4. Infinite extra time- randomed until a winner is found then et report written

5. Replay entire match- donā€™t want to do even if it is what they do in rl.

Any other suggestions donā€™t remember this happening before but then panc wasnā€™t with us was he. Personally i think a combination of 3 and 1 would be good, what da ya think?

8. Hutton 23, Excellent
9. Hargreaves, 27, Excellent
10. Shevchenko, 31, Excellent

Extra Time:
In extra time RSC started to fade away and TR Clowns were responsible for most of the attacks. Flamini played a good pass through for Van Nistilrooy, who then took the ball past Clichy and into the box. He went through one on one with Buffon and curled it towards the bottom corner, Buffo got a slight touch on it that took it round the post.

As the game neared the end of the two hours TR Clowns flung everyone forward in attempt to win the game. Flamini played a nice reverse pass through for Van Nistilrooy. Van Nistilrooy eyed up the shot but decided against it; instead he slid a ball across the face of the goal. Buffon was beat and the ball went for an easy tap in for Barnes. Barnes knocked it wide from just one yard out, how could he have missed! That was the miss of the season, Barnes hangs his head in shame as we head for penalties.

FA Cup semi-final Penalties

TRC are to go first.

Deco steps up and hits it to the right, Buffon dives down and palms it clear. TRC's hero today has missed! 0-0

First up for RSC is Ronaldo, he thumps the ball down the middle and Freidel dives out of the road. 0-1

Shevchenko is up next and he cheekily chips the ball down the middle, Buffon is fooled and goes off to the right. 1-1

Darren Bent is next and he hits it towards the top right corner, Freidel guesses right and makes a great save. 1-1

Van Nistilrooy takes the third and sends the keeper the wrong way with a well hit penalty. 2-1

Quaresma then steps up for Red Stick and hits a poor penalty but the keeper dives he wrong way. 2-2

Hargreaves then steps up for TRC and he hits it low, hard and down the middle. Again the keeper chooses wrongly. 3-2

Alonso smashes the next one to the left and the keeper goes to the right, great penalty. 3-3

TRC's final penalty was taken by Hutton and he hit it to the left, the keeper never moved. 4-3.

Clichy had to score to keep RSC in it, he hit it straight down the middle and the keeper dived away. 4-4.

omg this is the most ridiculously close match of all time, if i flipped a coin it would land in the bloody middle of heads and tails. Send in another 5 penalties in case we need that many although its now sudden death. Just make it the same takers same order. ( i guess) I think this is badly designed, perhaps in future cup matches you should send in penalties with your initial team/training?

I have randomed the match again and have a winner if you would rather do it that way.

Well in real games the penalties can be chosen on the spot. Btw if the keeper guesses the direction he automatically saves it? :? :?

FA cup penalties continued

We enter sudden death with the scores a 4-4.

Deco steps up to redeem himself and hits it the same way, Buffon guesses right again and saves it. 4-4

Ronaldo steps up, he can win it for Red Stick if he scores. He smashes it left, and Freidel also dives to his left and tips it round the post. 4-4

Next up is Shevchenko, who once more smashes it down the middle. Buffon dives away and its 5-4.

Bent must score to keep RSC in it, he hits it straight down the middle and in a replay of the previous penalty the keeper jumps out of the way. 5-5

Van Nistilrooy strikes the next penalty aiming towards the top corner. Buffon guesses right but can't get their as its gone wide of the mark. 5-5

Quaresma to win it for RSC, he hits a porr penalty to the right but the keeper goes the wrong way! 5-6 finally we have a winner!

FA cup.semi-finals

Red Stick Cajuns(lsu) 1 v 1 TR Clowns (panc) (6-5 in pens)
Emo United(sam) v Down Under United(iliad)

Will the second semi-final be as close as the last? Emo United are desperate to win after their league campaign fell apart, DDU will be no easy task and on their current form they will be hard pushed to get a result. DDU after a great start are fighting to try and stay in the title race and a win here would significantly help their confidence.

Emo United (sam levi)
1. James 37, Excellent
2. Cannavaro, 35, World Class
3. Lahm, 24 Excellent
4. Elano 26, Excellent
5. Fabregas, 20, World Class
6. Rosicky, 27, World Class
7. Torres, 24, World Class
8. Todd 33, Good
9. Mendes 29, Very Good
10. Walcott, 19, Excellent

Down Under United (illy)

2. Vidic 26, Excellent
3. Agger 23, Excellent
4. Xavi, 28 World Class
5. Lampard, 29, World Class
6 .Arshavin, 27 World Class
7. Drogba, 30, World Class
8. Yobo 27, Very Good
9. K. Miller, 28, Very Good
10. A. Young 22, Very Good

Match Report
From the beginning Emo United looked like the team of old. They seemed to have regained their confidence and were battling well with DDU. The first chance fell to Emo on 13 minutes. Fabregas fizzed a pass into Torres who spun and then played it across to Rosicky. He advanced and then curled a shot from the edge of the box it had Hart beat but bounced back off of the bar.

Down Under responded quickly with a chance of there own. Arshavin played a great pass through for Drogba who controlled it well before laying it off for Xavi. Xavi hit a great shot that flew towards the bottom corner; James got down well to tip it by the post.

The match was a thriller as both sides went forward well and created plenty of opportunities. Just before half time Down Under United got their best one of the match so far. A long ball from Agger was headed on by Lampard. Drogba picked it up and then sprayed a pass across to Arshavin, who drove at Lahm. He managed to open up a yard of space and then chipped a ball in for Drogba who had broken free from the defence. He had a free header and he put it past James and into the net. Emo United 0-1 Down Under United.

The second half was equally exciting as Emo United pushed for an equaliser. On the hour mark they got the chance to do just that. Fabregas played a through ball for Torres, Vidic should have got their first but Torres managed to prod in on for Rosicky who broke into the box. He passed the ball right into the corner of the goal, Hart had no chance and Emo are level. Emo United 1-1 Down Under United.

Down Under united tried to strike back immediately. Xavi stromed forward before picking out Arshavin out wide. Arshavin then cut onto his right foot and shot towards the far post. James managed to tip it onto the post and the ball came back out into the box. Drogba pushed past Cannavaro but and tried to volley it in, but he hit it wrongly and the ball went miles over.

As the game entered injury time one last chance fell to Emo United. Elano skinned Lampard before swinging a cross into the box. Agger tried to head clear but his attempt was lame and the ball fell to Torres. The Spanish striker, tried to place a shot into the corner but it deflected back off a crowd of defenders. Fernando Torres controlled it again and this time went for power. Once again it deflected off a defender but this time it deflected past Hart and into the goal. Emo United 2-1 Down Under United.

Emo United 2 v 1 Down Under United.
Rosicky 60--------Drogba 38
Torres 90 +1

FA Cup final
Red Stick Cajuns v Emo United

After matchday 14, the result seems to be obvious but this is the FA cup and im sure it will be a thriller.
