CCPL Matchday 8

Emo United(sam) 0 v 0 TWAT(lozz)
Thunder Hawks(amino) v Down Under United(iliad)
Redcar Royals (cena) 1 v 1 TRC (panc)
Norfolk and Chance(ice) v Red Stick Cajuns (lsu)

Game 2
Thunder Hawks(amino) v Down Under United(iliad)

The teams finally emerge from the tunnel. Iliad will be looking for a simple win today against TH who have failed to impress in recent weeks. DDU are currently sitting in third and nothing less than a win will be acceptable, where as poor Thunder Hawks will be hoping that new striker David Villa can bring a change in fortune.

Teams:
Thunder Hawks (animo)
1. Given 31, Excellent
2. R. Ferdinand 29, Excellent
3. Sagna 25, Very Good
4. Ballack, 31, Very Good
5. Pederson 26, Very Good
6. Denilson 20, Very Good
7. Villa 26, World Class
8. Mellberg, 30, Very Good
9. A. Smith 27, Very Good
10. Viduka, 32, Very Good
11. Berbatov, 27 Excellent
12. Whitehead 26, Good
13. Dawson 24, Excellent
14. Agbonlahor, 21, Very Good

Down Under United (illy)
1. Hart 20, Very Good
2. Vidic 26, Excellent
3. Agger 23, Excellent
4. Xavi, 28 World Class
5. Lampard, 29, World Class
6 .Arshavin, 27 World Class
7. Drogba, 30, World Class
8. Yobo 27, Very Good
9. K. Miller, 28, Very Good
10. A. Young 22, Very Good

Match Report:
Both teams started off on the attack with Thunder Hawks attempting to break quickly and going all out for it. It was DDU however who created the first opening, Arshavin played it to Xavi who laid it back for Lampard. He then chipped the ball in behind Sagna and Drogba caught it first time on the volley, it soared past Given and DDU found themselves with an early lead. Thunder Hawks 0-1 Down Under United

Thunder Hawks responded by flinging men forward and got a chance for their effort. Ballack played the ball in for Villa who strolled through the DDU defence it took an age for him to be closed and when Vidic did he was simply shrugged off the ball, Villa move into the box and hit a hard shot that was going well wide. Agger swung to clear it, but the ball flew up into the air and into his own net! It’s only TH 3rd league goal and what a fluke! Thunder Hawks 1-1 Down Under United

The goal seemed to give TH heart and game turned into an end to end thriller. DDU seemed to be trying to walk the ball into the net when they got their chances and at the other Villa was playing a blinder while the DDU defence was poor at best. On 41 minutes Arshavin made a good run through the TH defence before threading a pass on for Lampard. Lampard turned Sagna and was about to strike it when Sagna tugged on him from behind, penalty! Lampard took it and smashed it down the middle, Given dived out of the way and DDU are back in the lead. Thunder Hawks 1-2 Down Under United.

The second half started in similar fashion TH were throwing everything they had at it and DDU were still lacking a final shot. On 57 minutes DDU had a chance to widen their lead. Drogba and Xavi combined well to bat a few defenders before playing it into to Lampard. Lampard then fed through Arshavin who dinked the ball into the box, Drogba ran on and volleyed it, and it went just over the bar.

Down Under United continued to push forward and a long and left little at the back allowing TH to create an opening. A long ball thumped up by Sagna was headed on by an unchallenged Ballack. It fell for David Villa, Vidic came in for the tackle but was simply shrugged off of the ball. Villa bore down on Hart who left a big gap to his left and Villa wasn’t going to miss it, TH are back level!! Thunder Hawks 2-2 Down Under United.

As the minutes ticked by the match started to become rather rough, with the Thunder Hawks players booting everyone in sight. They were picking up a fair few cards but stopping a frustrated DDU side in their tracks. One particularly bad tackle, however led to a free-kick in a decent position for DDU. Xavi took it and dipped it over the eall only for it to be tipped by the post by Given. Xavi then swung in the corner with Drogba going up for the header against Ferdinand. Ferdinand won the battle and cleared the ball, a fantastic point for Thunder Hawks!

Thunder Hawks 2-2 Down Under United.
Agger OG 22---------Drogba 6
Villa 71---------------Lampard (pen) 57

i think it went something like this, replace Agger with Smith and the corner with a shot.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVOjBk6EKeU

This happened to my team once someone had a shot and and one of my team mates tried to boot it clear, it was a wet day and the ball sliced of off him and over our keeper, if i wasn't raging it would have been funny as hell.

p.s. its getting late and I havent even done my uni homework, important match tommorow, at some point.

1st v 2nd and with illy dropping points it's vitally important. Last time it was a draw but a win for either side would see them open up a 2 or 4 point lead.

CCPL Matchday 8

Emo United(sam) 0 v 0 TWAT(lozz)
Thunder Hawks(amino) 2 v 2 Down Under United(iliad)
Redcar Royals (cena) 1 v 1 TRC (panc)
Norfolk and Chance(ice) v Red Stick Cajuns (lsu)

Game 4
Norfolk and Chance(ice) v Red Stick Cajuns (lsu)

It’s a vital top of the table clash between Norfolk and Red Stick and a good indicator of what’s to come later in the season. Both teams have made deals in the transfer window and with DDU dropping points both teams will be hoping for their new players to shine. The atmosphere is great and a big match awaits…

Teams:
Norfolk and Chance (ice)
1. Van der sar, 37, World Class
2. Toure, 27, Excellent
3. Puyol, 30 World Class
4. Nani 21, Excellent
5 .Pirlo , 29 World Class
6. Gerrard, 27, World Class
7. Rooney, 22, World Class
8. Finnan 31, Excellent
9. Mascherano, 23, Excellent
10. Eduardo, 25, Excellent

Red Stick Cajuns (lsu)
1. Buffon, 30, World Class
2. Ashley Cole 27, Excellent
3. Clichy 22, Excellent
4. Quaresma, 24, World Class
5. Alonso, 26, Excellent
6. C. Ronaldo 23, Footballing God
7. D. Bent, 24, Excellent
8. Lucas 21, Very Good
9. Kranjcar 23, Good
10. Zarate, 21, Very Good
11. Hibbert, 21, Good

Match Report:
The home side started off the better pushing high up the pitch. Pirlo played a ball wide for Nani, who’s first touch took him past Clichy. He then cut into the box and laid it back for Rooney who took a touch before playing it to Gerrard who finally shot. It went narrowly wide after it took a vital touch off Alonso.

On 22 minutes Norfolk and Chance let RSC in for their first chance. As Quaresma pushed forward he found gaps appearing in the Norfolk defence. Norfolk still had too many players up in attack and a simple pass through for Ronaldo put him in on goal. Van der Sar same out and Ronaldo shot hard past him just inside the post. Norfolk and Chance 0-1 Red Stick Cajuns

Norfolk pushed forward in attempt to get an equaliser and they played some lovely stuff. Pirlo and Gerrard linked up well with Rooney and Nani posed a threat coming in from wide areas. However they never really managed to trouble Buffon’s goal until just after half time. A few neat passes left Gerrard with space to shoot, but instead he chose to play in Nani who slid the ball across the face of the goal. Rooney shot but a wonderful reactions save by Buffon insured RSC kept their lead.

Not long after they managed another opening this time it came on the counter. As the RSC players ran back towards their own goal Gerrard played a ball through to Rooney, who in turn chipped it on for Nani. Nani ran in on goal and shot but it was easily saved by Buffon. The rebound fell to Rooney, who couldn’t miss. Norfolk and Chance 1-1 Red Stick Cajuns.

After this Norfolk seemed to die down a little. They maintained to keep passing the ball nicely, but continually failed to make the final run or take on a shot. The next chance fell RSC’s way after a sublime run from Ronaldo. He skipped past players with ease and showed great determination to surge on towards goal. He was eventually tackled on the edge of the box thanks to a great tackle from Toure but the ball fell to Bent. Bent got the ball under control before lashing it towards goal. Van der Sar got his fingertips to it to prevent RSC re-taking the lead.

In the last 10 minutes RSC really started to pile on the pressure but received a blow when Clichy went off injured. He will miss next weeks game, and was replaced by Hibbert. They continued to threaten the Norfolk goal and on 84 minutes they got a major chance. Quaresma played the ball into Bent’s feet who held it up before back heeling it through Toure’s legs. Alonso ran onto it, he took a few touches before shooting high into the top of the net, Van Der Sar was beaten and RSC have the victory. Norfolk and Chance 1-2 Red Stick Cajuns.

Norfolk and Chance 1-2 Red Stick Cajuns.
Rooney 52----------------Ronaldo 22
----------------------------Alonso 84

Table up soon but i bet you know who's top.

yip thats the last of the gone ice. You still have the best attack (statistically), intrestingly sam and lozz have the joint best defence! Who would have thought that.

Matchday 9:
Red Stick Cajuns (lsu) v TRC (jr)
Down Under United(iliad) v Redcar Royals (cena)
TWAT(lozz) v Thunder Hawks(amino)
Norfolk and Chance(ice) v Emo United(sam)

btw if you hadn't noticed the games are repeating the order of the first half of the season.

Lsu plays pcm in consecutive weeks and I play sam in consecutive weeks (in semifinal and this matchday)

My comments on race and cup
Race will be down between me, ice and lsu. And I will play ice and lsu in matchday 12 and 11 respectively. Those games should decide the title

And the fa cup final will most likely be me vs lsu. And what a game that will be 8-) 8-)

Never realised that, I may change that order not sure yet. If you play so close together the chances are the score would be very similar unless training was changed in between.
