Talk to yeti about it, I think he is planning on doing it.
If you can provide really good perfectly centered coordinates (most of the ones on the current image aren't good enough to satisfy me. Almost all of them need to be moved to be perfect.) Then that is all that is needed.

Ok, I think this is going back to Zimmah again.
I'm never going to have other people do XML for me again ...

I'm a consistent XML person. Conquer 4's Small coordinates were done by me in fairly short order, just ask Gimil.

Gimil's lazy - I told him exactly how to do that with the utmost of ease!!

C4's are uber easy too - as it's a grid - you only need 6 Y values and 7 X values (or vice versa!)

well it's not easy to center all those coordinates perfectly, and i'm pretty busy lately, i'm sorry it took this long though. though the XML itself was done pretty quickly.

anyways, will post an update in a minute.

Are 4 digits needed?

Deserts 13 and 70 are the only ones that REALLY need to be moved, but if you've got the time, It would be awesome if you could center the rest of them, also. Cause most of them could be in a better position....

Don't need 4 digits. Just 2 and 3

i moved 13 and 70 now, here is a picture of the current positions:

if you would like any other changes please make a list for me so i can easily adjust it to your wishes. without army circles i find it hard to know where exactly is the best place for the numbers to appair (though army circles would ruin the map so i don't say you should make army circles, just i find it hard to know where to place the numbers exactly, so that's why i ask for a list of things you want to be changed)

so if anyone has some suggestions, please write them down so i can work on them.

sorry btw for the low quality of the pictures, but the GIF format makes it look that ugly, it's about the positions anyways, the real map will look much better off course

Its looking good, just a few small changes:
list:
Wisdom and Bravery: just a few pixels to the left, so they are more centered on the territory
Desert 38: one or two pixels to the left, so it isn't touching Clymb's name.
Desert 66 and 67: down and to the right so they are more centered in their territories.

Everything else is excellent. There are a few that I could be picky about on the 888s, but judging by how rare it will be to see those big numbers, the changes won't be needed. Only the ones listed above need to be fixed. Just one quick update and it'll be done =D>

You might want to bring Wisdom and Strength down one pixel.

army position changes:

  • centered several oasis
  • slightly moved desert 66 and grand oasis 2 to fit nicer
  • centered desert 67
  • moved 38

any more suggestions?

large images aren't needed since they are somewhere else in this topic and the large map is not changed.

darn.... there are A LOT of "territory X should border Y, but it doesnt" kind of errors in this.
I'll do the fixes myself. Expect to see the update in the next day or two.

that's pretty much impossible, i checked all the borders, 3 times (XML check, MAP check and manual) it shouldn't have errors

Summary: 0 errors and 0 warnings detected in OasisVersion30092008.xml (13 continents, 147 territories)

there is indeed a problem (look at the reply in PM.

i'm working on it to fix it, i'm 99% sure the problem lies in the renaming of territories. now i should only try to figure out which ones exactly.

after looking at the map updates (version 7 and current version) i noticed you didn't rename all territories consistently while in the XML i did. so now some territory names are mixed up. that's causing the 'problem'

if you look closely at your map you renamed territory 82 to 81 and so on (to fix the missing territory number) however you renamed desert 67 with desert 56! (where in the xml desert 67 is changed to 66, so now desert 66 in the xml 'thinks' it is desert 56) and some other territories have the same problem.

You should try putting the map & XML through the new map inspector (BETA)...

It'll probably help you!

i like the tool btw, however you spelled 'mapmapker' in the url

pretty cool stuff though, quite usefull, however would it be possible to have it print the starting armies instead of random generated/specified? so you can easily see if you did the neutrals/starting positions right? it should be possible to do that right??? then it will be really pwnage!

There are still more border problems in the XML.
I'll fix it myself......

It'll probably take me a day or two, cause I don't have much free time.
