If there was any way to set it this way, it would be good if you got a little cluster of territories with your capital somewhere in it, so someone doesn't kill you first turn, because otherwise someone could conceivably eliminate someone in the first couple rounds, even if that person wasn't a multi or a retard.

But you would have to hold all capitols to win the game (or did he not follow my idea)

Most of the time the games don't past five or six rounds anyways. You could almost call it a "speed" game. I like them because of that reason, they are quick.

It could work if you keep your capital secret. You could bluff the whereabouts of your capital by deploying on random countries etc. I'd give this type of game a try...

Right, but then how would you know if you were winning, and someone could take out your capitol by mistake, I like the "Must Hold All Capitols" better, maybe that option for terminator.

the official rules for capital risk from Hasbro are:
Players: 3 to 6
Setup: deploy as in world domination (for this site, i guess just the random deployment of three on each...)
Then, each player SECRETLY selects ONE of his/her territories as a capital, when all players have selected, the capitals are REVEALED.
To play, you must simply try to capture other peoples headquarters. With three players, yous must capture the two oppoent ones while maintaining your own; four players, you must capture two of the opposing ones while maintaining your own; five and six players you must capture any three opposing capitals while maintaining your own.
Key words: while maintaing your own. If you lose your own capital, you are NOT eliminated, you simply cannot win until you recapture your own.
Finally, when playing with cards, the slected capitals cannot be used as part of a matched set.

I have played capital risk with my friends, and it was kinda fun, but it was usually quite short, and got old kinda fast. Before adding that, I think the Secret Mission Risk variant should be added... in which every player is given a mission he or she must accomplish before someone else accomplishes theirs. It's a LOT of fun and doesn't get old 'cause there are a bunch of different missions... but i guess i'll talk about that somewhere else...

i played capitals risk on another risk website before i found this glorious one. it was pretty fun, and you would be surprised at how hard it is to find peoples capitals sometimes in a heated game :-) especially with fow on. i like this idea!

in the version i played you secretly chose a capital out of your drop territories and if someone took it, all of your countries became theirs, this may sound like people will accidentally hit your capital, however most folks usually pic something thats gonna be hard to get to begin with. or something people arent gonna stumble into.

like what hwhrhett said it is far better when it is kept secret rather than people know where it is and just fight there way straight to it and fow would work well with it

It is almost like a feudal war game or Aor game apart from u don't know were the enemys territory captiol is

NatNat wrote:for all creaters of the game i suggest a new game type of capital/capitol risk- i got it from when i re-read the intructions of the origanal board game i saw on the exended verison of the game a different game of capital/capitol risk. For people who don't know what it is it is when a player secreatly chooses a territory as there captiol the player who conquers the the other playes captiol nocks him out of the game and he has to own his own capitol to do it. The number of players varie the number capitals a player has. Post more in for more info and what u think of it. NatNat

Since ive played another game with this system i could now say i love it.

But if you do like in that game that when you losse your capital all the "areas" of that players will be yours. Doing this will give one player more terretories to hide his capital behind, but other players will know that hes on the rampage.

capital cities

Postby Jeff Hardy on Sat Feb 07, 2009 10:18 am

Concise description:
  • everyone gets a capital city at the beginning of the game

Specifics:
  • if you lose your capital city you are out of the game and whoever took you gets all your territs with 1 troop on
  • the capital city acts like every other territ and can be part of a bonus
  • the opponents dont see what your capital is
  • you cant kill a teammates capital or this could be abused too much in team games (teammate forts everything to you then you take out his capital and have as good as won the game)
  • works for all game types and would just be an additional thing

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • would be lots of fun

Capital

Postby sniffie on Thu Jan 06, 2011 4:32 am

Concise description:
  • At the beginning of this type of game, the players choose one territory that is their "capital". On maps like Feudal War, this territory is obvious. The player's capital must be defended at all cost, because without it the player will be eliminated from the game. His armies will remain on the board and the player can still be killed for points in Terminator games.

Specifics/Details:
  • The capital is worth no bonus on its own (unless the map says otherwise) and is used as a normal territory. It is part of the bonus area it is in.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • It would add a new kind of gameplay that can be used with all existing gameplays (cards, forts, etc.). It wouldn't take that much extra programming for Lack, because it is somewhat similar to an assassin game.

Any kind of feedback is welcome.

Already introduced.

Also, it's not programming, it would be XML that does that ;)
