I've never hosted a tournament, is there a reason each division has to be 16 players?
There is a reason why most tournaments have 16, 32, 64, 128 and so on numbers.. ill try to show you why..
Player A
-------- Winner of A/B
Player B
-------------------------------------Winner of AB/CD
Player C
--------- Winner of C/D
Player D
--------------------------------------------------------------------Winner ABCD/FGHI
Player F
-------- Winner of F/G
Player G
-------------------------------------Winner of FG/HI
Player H
--------- Winner of H/I
Player I
This is a third of our tournament. 16 players/teams allows everyone to have a equal chance to get to the championship game. If the number is anything but 4,8,16,32,64,128 and so on then one team or more will have no one to play against. Hopefully this makes sense.
So, how this tournament is going to work is by having 3 of those brackets that i just showed you. Once the tournament narrows down to three teams. Ill take a look at their records (how many games theyve won/lose) and whoever has the best record will automatically go to the championship game while the other two teams will have to play each other to go to the championship game. Does that make sense? If it doesnt ill try to explain it again using more better pictures and word choice.

Adjacent works just fine. I've played many many games using adjacent.. its just something to get used to. It actually in my opinion involves more strategy to play adjacent then to play any other settings, but i let the group vote on the settings and this is what they chose.
