all of the “foreigners” are of a religious persuasion: instead, is “churches” a more precise description for the regional bonus?
Well, yes you could call them churches for the sake of the map.
I would prefer to recall them as foreigners as it was the "foreign devils" (whom the churches were part of) who were not wanted in China. As you know, this has been going on for years with the Opium Wars. The Churches were meary the final catalyst in the process that started off the Boxer Rebellion - hence they are tied on that side of the map to the 8 Nation Alliance and opposed by the Empress and Prince Juan.
pu yi now looks much better, as the boy emperor that he was.
Good
in the xml, will “emp.” and “emps.” be replaced by the full title?
the abbreviation looks less than regal.
No i would like to have them excatly in the xml as they are on the map.
I don't think that regal has anything to do with this. Anyone who opens this map probably knows about the Emperors of China and that they lived in this Forbidden City. It has certainly been documented enough and has been on TV several (in Australia anyway) lately. So i would like to imagine that they are going to associate Emp> with Emperor and Emps. with Emperess. For me, this is more about territory identification in the drop lists of what is on the maps.
in fact, t'zu hsi was actually empress dowager, not an empress. can u redo the xml to reflect this? there is also a capital S on the map that's out of place.
You are quite correct, however based on the above, i would have to change the title in the map and i don't think that will fit. I will c what i can do, but it will probably remain the same, unless i can find something more suitable.
i'll have a look at the bonuses later and also check the names for consistency of spelling.
