Rule Addendum:
As this is my first tournament, I did not foresee the problem caused by dead beating (i.e.: missing three consecutive turns or not joining games) as being that severe or tournament hindering. Due to this, I have instituted the following rule addendum to the tournament.
If a player deadbeats by either missing three consecutive turns or does not join a required game within 7 days of the notice being sent to join, the following actions will take place:
If the game has started and, by losing this game, it would be the FIRST loss to the player, the round will be replayed using a reserve player.
If the game has NOT started and, by losing this game, it would be the FIRST loss to the player, the round will be played using a reserve player.
If the game has started and, by losing this game, it would be the SECOND loss to the player, the player will simply lose the game based on Conquer Club attendance rules. NO replay of the round will be necessary and the opponent will move on to the next round while the losing player is eliminated.
If the game has NOT started and, by losing this game, it would be the SECOND loss to the player, the opponent will receive a "bye" for the round and the player will be disqualified and eliminated. NO reserve player will be used under this circumstance.
For those of you playing your turns in a timely manner, thank you. If you are currently in a game with someone who appears to be about to deadbeat, I hope this rule is acceptable to you. Since Round 1 is still in progress for 2 more games, and it appears as if one or more of these games contain a deadbeat player, you may be required to replay your current Round 1 game with a reserve player.
Conquer on!
