Idaho Citizens do not care about the kids.. confirmed!

Superintendent -- 955 of 955 precincts reporting (100%)
Idaho
Tom Luna (R) 226,956 51% (X)
Jana Jones (D) 215,845 49%

The let that idiot into power who is bent on not giving funding to public schools and getting all kids into private schools. Not only that he's also bent on getting everyone to think the same by mandating 100000 different kinds of standardized testing so that teachers cant have any form of originality..

Then when asked whether they would like to invest in their kids education or have a pennies level decrease on their property tax they decide they want to have the few cents off their property tax and let the damn government pork barrel the extra 1% sales tax that they are now paying...

Proposition 1 -- 955 of 955 precincts reporting (100%)
Education Funding
No 245,154 55% (X)
Yes 204,426 45%

and now, because of those reasons my parents want to move away from the state of idaho....

and I dont blame them.. I'm hoping for minneapolis, but thats just me.

Hmmm Is Idaho a "red" state? You might consider MA, you'd probably enjoy it there.

It is REALLY red... in fact... last election the only democrat to win public office happened to be the state superintendant...

Why you ask? Because Tom Luna is that insane that even the most radical republicans(which believe me we have like one democrat in state legislature) couldn't even vote for him, but I guess they've changed their mind and now we're all fucked.

You wanna know another sign that Idaho parents don't care about their kids?

Raising them in the state that spawned Napoleon Dynamite.

Funny story, most my extended family that lives near here lives in preston.. true story.

We have a family reunion up there each year and things have changed quite a bit since then but not a whole lot if you know what I mean..

Preston used to have a Mcdonald's.. but its such a small town that it didnt get enough business and went under.

Sounds like a good place to visit. I wouldn't want to live there for more than 20 minutes though.

If you like bluestates, go to Wisconsin. However, you'll be seeing MY red name on the ballot sometime. Our state is too blue. The only good things to come out of the Wisconsin election were the Conservative AG, J B Van Hollen; and the ban on gay marriage. I can't believe they re elected DOYLE! Pooh to Doyle!

If I ever see someone with the name "happysadfun" on my ballot, he's got my vote......lol

Seriously, Rev., it's a tough thing to get people to vote to increase their own property taxes, in any amount. Look at it this way. You're standing there at the poll, you see this measure to increase property taxes by 2%, (or whatever), and you think about it for a fraction of a second or so.....hmmmmm.... My property is worth a couple of hundred grand......hmmm... Don't know how much we're talking about but seems to me that if I punch the wrong hole here that it might cost me a couple of thousand dollars a year. Wham!!! You punch the "no" option in a flash.

I care about my kids a great deal. I even care about education, in general, but I will not vote to increase my own property taxes.

Well, thats just the thing it isnt that way. It was proposition one to make sure the extra SALES tax they added went to education. but our douchebag governor right befor elections lowered property taxes by a fraction of a percent just so it wouldnt pass and said that thats what the sales tax did..

and thats really douchebaggish because thats a regressive tax reform.. because the poor dont have to pay much property tax but everyone pays sales tax equally and yeah. Now education gets jack shit.
