After the last update I cannot get my game on the San Francisco map to show the dropdown. Game 2519660 Have you started changing all of that code? My other two games the dropdown works, but they are both on conquest maps.

I added your game to my list and 1.8.7 is showing both the dropdown and the popup map correctly for me although I have a
modified version. Yes, there have been changes in that area also (I was actually planning on removing the dropdown as its information will be older than the popup map).

As soon as I check in the next version, I will see if I can replicate this.

EDIT: This will be fixed in 1.8.8, just found it.

I think this is a step backwatds...

Remember that some people will use the script in different ways to yourself...

So they may well prefer to have just the dropdown - and occasionally use the map... instead of always using the map.

Forcing people to use the popup map may turn people off this script.

Adding games should be ok in the complete absence of deleting. I have added dozens of game from listings pages for example.
What is going wrong there?

Hmm - perhaps the adding whilst deleting was the issue then?

chipv wrote:As for the size, it sizes based on your map size options. Evidence suggests you use a large map with your resolution so
I will look into the largest map sizes available but the popup map width is map size + 160 but I can't shrink the map.
I can shift its position so if your popup would fit but is too far to the right then I can fix that.

Right OK - I tend to swap my map size around depending on whether I'm at work (on a PC monitor) or at home (on lappie screen)

Ok, I think this is a good point, so the dropdown stays, then.
The popup map does contain all of its info as well as other new features which
don't exist anywhere else currently.
The next key change is to make the map info always fresh whereas the dropdown info will only refresh on page load.
(I suppose I could change that as well....)

Magnifying glass doesn't work on awaiting games (suggest removal)

BTW -> I like the history showing what attacked what etc... good stuff.

Also a few errors in your continent hovering code...

For good examples - see Arms race.

Some of them don't highlight anything - but the easiest to check - is the "missile" launch ones...

C.

PS - also - you need to have "live chat" in the list of disallowed sites.

Something odd is going on - every continent highlights for me. Neutrals are highlighted in white.

Disallowed sites?

Ok to disallowed sites (exclude pages, I think you meant).

Just uploaded a few changes.

lancehoch's dropdown problem fixed awaiting confirmation.
Changed fortify and attack highlighting to make it clearer.
Popup map is now always fresh - every click fetches latest data.

That means you could watch people as they are in a turn and track
graphically by clicking on magnifying glass and hovering on the turn log in the popup.

Uninstall clearing associated preferences and reinstall with the link in the head post.

It is possible that you have added a game that has since been deleted, a problem I have not yet addressed.

As for logging, the best info is from Firebug and a clear description of the problem with game numbers - those get resolved quickly.

Sorry, I rushed that post. When you uninstall, there is a checkbox next to the uninstall button which says
"Also uninstall associated preferences". Make sure this is checked before pressing uninstall button. Then you can add the link in head post.
Once this has been done, you will need to setup your alert and sorting options again as this is a clean installation.

Head Post Updated

As this thread is getting longer, I will update the head post with new features so you don't
have to wade through every post here if you don't want to.

I've begun to list all of the features and will continue to update. Just look at the head post edit date
to see if anything new is there.

Installed 1.9.5.
I'm using the script pretty regularly now ... It's coming along as quick as ever.

One thing I'm a little bemused about is the "Show Map" functionality.
I can see that it does what it is supposed to, and the additional information presented with the map is useful, but it seems odd to create a new view of the map when clicking on the map icon will take you to the map anyway.

I really think that Turn Watch would be better if the additional information shown on the "Show Map" map were instead presented within the expanded view within the menu ...

If there is information presented with the "Show Map" that really needs to be alongside the map itself perhaps it should be included in BOB ?
FREE M-E-Mbership and simple rules. Conquer Club - it's not complicated.

random me statistic @ 13 December 2008 - 1336 posts : 232nd most public posts (not counting Tower of Babble) of all time.

Hey, cicero, hope you are well and enjoyed yourself!

One purpose of the popup map is to save jumping from page to page. You can view current state of your games all on one page (it now autorefreshes).
Sure, some info could be included in BOB (I have made sure the features are not duplicated) but one feature is the graphical walk through the
turn which does need the log next to the map which you don't get on game pages. Also the weak point and continent highlighting should make it easy to spot any major tactical changes between turns. I do realise that this is now a matter of personal preference so I've kept the text dropdown but I was finding it a bit tedious wading through the info in the dropdown without the map to consult and see what was happening.

Actually the information is pretty much the same, but you get a graphical tool with the popup map which some people may like, some not.

could you put a "pause" button when loading on it? i would find that usefull.
also if the games were in a tab that you could just click then they dropped down like a drop down menu- that would be good.
and a temporary off button when browsing forums? (i had had it set to just my games -but that gets overwritten on each update) so im not sure if a temporary off button would work???
