Well, T, you can't have done it right, 'cause mountains made the way I said look precisely like this:

Yours look like roads right now.

its much better, i love theese mountains, just i think they are a little to clustered.
i like the darker ones better

check out the risk LOTR map, it's mountains are phenomenal! your almost there, i think mountains is like one of your only problems

oh, and the grass looks to real to be true, it almost looks wierd

try using a pig stampede instead of grass lol
the grass cast a shadow dowmward, while the mountains cast shadows upward. it almost seems as if they are hanging my there roots

i agree with theyre too clustered, but i prefer the lighter ones because they are more defined and you can tell the difference between one another better

NinjaArmy wrote:check out the risk LOTR map, it's mountains are phenomenal!

i would but i dont know what that is :?

NinjaArmy wrote:oh, and the grass looks to real to be true, it almost looks wierd

lol - i need to try out some different forest areas, maybe a few filters will help?

NinjaArmy wrote:the grass cast a shadow dowmward, while the mountains cast shadows upward. it almost seems as if they are hanging my there roots

the mountains have a slight outer glow so its not a shadow i dont think.
the forest has a shadow - but its pointing a weird way because i made it on a different document becaus ei find it easier, i will change the shadow direction on the next update.
although thinking about it when i put it in my normal document it should have fixed back, shouldnt it? :?

You're mountains clash with the style of trees. If you are going with those mountains, I'd consider using a similar stylized tree.

thanks, yes i was thinking that - you know what i could use?
what do you always say?
bananas! (banana trees ;))

of course, qwert, i will have to do some research as to if they actually have banana trees there!
but here are a few trees found in madagascar that ive found on the net...tell me if you like any of them and which ones you would like to see on the map:

1)

2)

3)

4)

5)

6)
who could forget this one, i like this pic:

7)
and a banana tree for reference:

of course i should have gotten a better image of a banana tree, but...

anyway - people please suggest a tree number from the above list, or more than 1 i dont mind, or even post another pic of a tree that would go well in the map; all of your comments are welcome :)
thanks

Go with whatever tree species is prominent...and if numerous are, then I like #1 or #6.

#6 is the tree that most people think of when theyve been to mad. so i think that one its our winner,
i will do it in the next hour or so...

The trees are much better.

The mountains are also better but the top range of mountains has some weird angles in a couple of places. Check them out.

t-o-m...on assignement assisting with graphics comments here....

one thing that bothers me on this, is that you have an inner bevel on the legend, and a drop shadow and some outer smooth outer bevel on the main island. can you clarify for me what is happening there?

The forest look OK to me.

The mountains i think are all bunched too close together. Perhaps remove some of those icons to make them less cluttered or bunched up.

The fonts look good. Perhaps move Mania a little to the left so it doesn't sit over the top of the mountains.

Keep up the good work. :)
