Just added a feature to make this a whole lot easier. You can add games from the game finder as well as your games listings pages.
There is a new link "Turn Watch" under the "Enter Games" link so you can add lots at a time now.

UNINSTALL the old script (Conquer Club Turns).

You should be running with Conquer Club Turn Watch from now onwards.

Great script chipv !!

First thoughts ... (sometimes my take on suggestions already posted by others):

Change default behaviour so that expanding one game collapses others.

As a first step (perhaps not the definitive solution) change the label from "Game 123456" to "World 2.1 53" - where 53 is the round number. Hence, when the game is expanded, remove Map from the list of data. Game number is retained in the "Go To Game 123456" link. This will give players a much better feel for which game they are looking at than a bare game number.
Some map names would have to be truncated though ... perhaps a map icon - like on game finder/start a game - would be better ?

Extend the 'toolbar' for each game ... Currently there is only the "X" to remove the game from Turn Watch. Certainly a right pointing arrow to jump straight to the game would be useful instead of having to expand the game box first ... Other buttons ... ?

Include game chat entries in the list of new events. (I think I read a post somewhere by you that said that Turn Watch does this, but now I can't find the post and it doesn't seem to be doing it for me ...)

Once again - great script chipv

Thanks, cicero - I've done one of your suggestions, so can you please see if it's any better?
Instead of the old Game label, you now get map type + image. Click on the image to jump to the game.
Larger map type names are truncated so I've kept the extended name in the game data description in the dropdown.

Game chat is not included in the actual dropdown - you do get an alert if a new chat is available but only if
no other event has occurred. Primarily because someone could be chatting whilst another takes a turn amongst other reasons.
It's lowest priority colour at the moment.

I'll do the collapsing one game only next, I think, that's a good idea.

Thanks again, cicero, delighted you've had a look!

Not super important, but I thought I would mention it. In the "Turn Watch" dropdown, you have Classic with a "." after it. Currently the map name has a "~" after it, not sure if this was intentional, or an oversight.

Well, I've chosen to go with the image descriptor which is more user friendly (Classic is with a .) whereas the only other descriptor
is a filename and so has _ and characters like that with no spaces.

Not much I can do about that at the moment without manually coding it in.

It seems that the "Go To Game" link has disappeared. Also, I do not see the images that you are talking about. And the red "X" is still only halfway across the box. I am using version 1.4.1

I'm liking 1.4.1 ... would still tweak the layout from here ...

1.4.1 has:
<Map Name (expands game)><Map Img (jumps to game)><X - removes from list>

Suggest:
<Map Img (jumps to game)><Round number (explands game)<X - removes from list>

I still maintain that map+round number is the most evocative way of identifying a game to a player ... (and this suggestion does that).

Other thought ... (not really formed as a suggestion yet) ... there must be a more compact way of displaying the game info:
1.4.1
Game: 1529507
Map: World 2.1
Players: 8
Game Type: Standard
Play Order: Sequential
Bonus Cards: Flat Rate
Fortifications: Adjacent
Fog of War: No

Perhaps:
1529507
World 2.1
8/standard/seq
flat/adj/no fog
... ?

(Actually maybe that it is a fully formed suggestion :))

(Personally I'm not currently using "X" at all, but at the moment my number of games is run right down (I'm going on holiday soon) so perhaps the usefulness of that will become clear when I increase the number of games in future)

It was supposed to be replaced by the image which you can't see for some reason (other people have the same problem, I think).
I am running with your games right now and can see all of their images with unmodified 1.4.1.
The red x is halfway across the box because the image is missing.

Which page are you viewing them from? Do you have the same problem on every conquerclub page?
Just for info, what version of Firefox are you using?

Sorry, I'll fix this ASAP.

I can fit

<Image>6 Players, Rd3 X

and still looks ok.

I think those 3 together is probably enough to narrow down the game.

Compressing the game info is a good idea, it's annoying how much space it takes.
I do need to bear in mind less experienced players (like me) who may not automatically
know what the shorthand might mean, though.

I am viewing from all pages, I have not changed the web address in the "Included Pages." It seems to be the same on every page, I have not seen a page where the image appears. I am using Firefox 2.0.0.14

I just downloaded Turn Watch 1.4.2. I am still missing the image, although the load was different this time. I was able to see the image box for the map, but the box disappeared as soon as the page finished loading.

Ok, what other scripts are you running?

Can you try and run without those scripts if possible to see if there is an interaction please?

When you've finished your turn, of course. (I can still see your games with images in my list).

I am currently running (obviously) GreaseMonkey, BOB, Turn Watch, Dice Analyzer, and Drop Game Confirmation. I just wanted to remind you that I still am unable to see the "Go To Game..." link.

EDIT: I have downloaded 1.4.3, and the "Go To Game..." link is back. I have disabled all the other scripts I am running, and I am still having the same problem (not seeing the map image). Thanks for the hard work.

Ok, when you can, can you disable the other scripts in Tools and then give it another go please?

(btw, 1.4.3 has the Go To Game reinstated for you).

re version 1.4.4

I like ...
<Map Img (jumps to game)><number of players and round number (expands game)<X (removes from list)>
... the addition of number of players to what I suggested completes the evocation of a particular game perfectly. I'm looking forward to having 20+ games again to see Turn Watch in all it's glory ... :)

Minor tweaks:
  • You can now remove "Players: 8" from the expanded view since it is duplicated.
  • In the list view I'd be an advocate of "<map img> 8p, r77 X" - ie abbreviation - since it cleans up the UI. However I acknowledge what you say about this with regard to the expanded view. Perhaps it's best not to abbreviate now, but to consider this again in future when Turn Watch is more mature.
  • Pad the map image very slightly so that the left hand edge aligns with the text in the menu items above.

Suggestion ...
Add a "Mode" menu item below Options.
I leave the UI implementation to you, but essentially it would cycle through "all | my turn | my turn next | eliminated | recently finished" ...
Perhaps some other modes need to be added to that list.
The intention here is address some of the issues already discussed re scanning ...
I realise that, as stated, it doesn't acknowledge that players may have removed some games using the X. Perhaps another mode "custom" which would be "'all' as modified by user's use of X" ...
OK, this one is definitely part formed :)

Good to know you're finding my feedback useful chipv :) ... Seeing your script at such an early stage takes me back to when BOB was first taken on by stocksr (the lead author of BOB before yeti_c) ... he joined CC and, having started working on what was to become BOB (yeti_c contributed the acronym later), told me about CC too. He and I had a lot of fun adding features to BOB (when he started work BOB had no menu interface, map inspect, text map, map opacity or help amongst other things) ... though of course lots of other people also contributed enormously via the forum thread. And yeti's subsequent work continues to make BOB cooler than ever - I don't think stocksr would recognise it now ...

But anyway, history lesson over, I guess you'll have noticed I'm enjoying your script ;). If ever you think it needs a Help/Info file and you're as distracted from maintaining that (by programming) as yeti is (and stocksr was) let me know.

important note:
Turn Watch has just reached the level of features/maturity such that I now use only Turn Watch to monitor my games.

The My Games page is almost consigned to history :)
I still use it to "just check" that I've not missed something, but I expect that will change.

The first 2 suggestions don't go together. I'm all for abbreviating the label but there has to be some detail in there
for people who haven't ever used it or are new, my opinion. I agree with the first suggestion and the third.
So I'll do 8p, rd77 X, I do agree with the redundancy.

I've been coding this and then removing this so many times it's ridiculous.
I completely agree with you. Unfortunately you've hit the nail on the head, the ability to add and delete
items completely throws this. Someone wanted team games only as well.
This will be done but the worry is that someone wants to auto-scan for their new games and has
to remove all the ones they had already done all over again (some people have hundreds of games).

What I will say, from the coding already done is that I think maybe restrict this to filtering outside the scope
of the existing colour scheme. So that means filter on my games, my eliminated, my finished, my team, all, and then
custom (good idea, cicero) leaving the colours and alerts for the rest. Not sure on this one which is why it hasn't
been published.

yeti's been excellent help since I started on this, absolute star - very keen eye for bugs, and the feedback from lots of people has been excellent including yours.

I have downloaded 1.4.5. I can now see a small box in the bottom left corner of each line, presumably where the map should start. If I click on the box, or the area above the box, it acts as a "Go To Game..." link. I have turned off all other plugins and I am using Firefox 2.0.0.14.

Presumably you can see the thumbnails on your mygames pages. These are the same except smaller.

What screen resolution are you using?
Do you have Firefox Tools->Options->Content-> Load images automatically?

I have same version of FF as you, so trying to see what difference could be.

Is the box/line grey in color or looks like one line of each image (multi-colours)?

Yes, I can see the thumbnails on the mygames pages.
My screen resolution is 1024x768.
Yes, I have load images automatically checked.
There is about a 5 pixel wide column to the left of "Xp, rdX" for each game. At the bottom of each column, there is a 5 pixel by 5 pixel box that acts as a link to the game. Currently, the 5x5 box is the color of the left side background (the color behind the words "Turn Watch"). The rest of the 5 pixel wide column is the color of the background behind "Options" and "Mark All As Read." Also, I am still seeing the area past the red "X" as the color of the left side background.

PS Congrats on losing the "?"

I went to the page, and I was able to see all 5 blimps (the first blimp did not have a number on it, is that just my computer?). If this is just a problem with me, I can live with it. I have a tendency to play similar games, so I usually use the dropdown anyway.
