hmmmm I find it hard to believe that a 747 could clip a private Jet and the pilot of the Jet not know what hit him. Was he sleeping? How could he not see something as big as a 747 approaching his plane? The article stated that after they landed at the military base they sat around talking about "what they might have hit". If I was on that plane I'd be questioning the pilot who must have been sleeping at the wheel. :wink:

wow..that was intense....can't believe a 747 didn't make it through that crash and the private jet made it..and ya...wouldn't the pilot see the plane from a distance?

It's like this, one was going aprox. 500 miles an hour the other 400. There is quite a bit of sky to look at compared to this usually large looking aircraft. They are a little more difficult to see than you're thinking.

Most of the time when the controlers tell you there's traffic near you it takes between 30 seconds and 5 minutes to see it. No one told them it was there so they had no reason to be looking for it. When it came up it didn't take much time.

Well, smaller jets are more compact, and the larger jets are less?
