I ended up having to wait a week for them to contact the school and validate it.

I'm surprised you managed to get a replacement card from Social Security at all. My mom's got a appeal pending to some tax refund issue that she launched two years ago for Christ's sake. Nobody's got a clue what anyone else is doing.

I have at least two friends who got their non-driver ID from the DMV the day they applied for one, granted they did have their SSNs and their birth certificates as their two forms of ID, but they still managed to get it. The system's different in almost every city let alone every state. At least NSB's on the ball.

I just got a new social security card (mine was so old you couldn't read the numbers anymore) I printed to form at work, went to the SS office and took a number. Two hours later I had my reciept and a week later I had my card. It's free and it wasn't hard. Yes, it took me six months to get a new diver's license after my first one broke in half, but that was my apartment complex's fault (they kept returning my mail). My six year driver's license was $56....and while I was there I registered to vote.

The sscard wasnt the problem.. it was me not having a drivers liscense.

ok.... I understand that one....

It's really strange, In Missouri they make one for you on the spot 20 minutes and you're holding it. I moved to TX and had to wait for 6 months. My apartment complex didn't recognize my name on the mail, but the sure recognized it on my rent checks every month. I didn't actually get my new license until after I moved from those apartments and called the state three or four times.

I swear to god I'm going back to Missouri before I have to renew it again.

Doesn't change the fact that a lot of dead votes went to Bush as well.

Both sides are equally corrupt, it's all in your POV.

Don't you know that facts are irrelevant in any discussion regarding politics or scandal? If facts were relevant, the two-term limit amendment would have been repealed ages ago and Clinton would still be president!

I'm sorry if the reality of the situation is too much for you to handle, or that we're so jaded on the whole affair that we happen to know the scoop.

You want facts?

Fact: A lot of dead people voted for Bush
Fact: A lot of dead people voted for Kerry
Conclusion: Both sides are equally corrupt.

However, these facts and conclusions are irrelevant because it all comes down to who's got more media time and who is louder. Therefore it's all about POV.

Who said I wasn't over it? I was merely correcting the thread's author on the nature of reality and fact when it comes to politics.

I don't fucking care who won the last election because I voted for Badnarik.

Bush isn't running again, that is good. At the same time we'll get another president who is no different from his opponent in terms of campaign strategy.

i never said you werent over it, i was just yelling at all those who were. also, i think Nader might be a better choice, since it's not wasting your vote, or you could write in yourself, and say you ran for president :D

Meh, Nader kinda is a wasted vote. He's far too whiny and anti-materialism to ever be a truly viable candidate.

What you point to as Facts, are in fact POV's. Facts are actually the only important thing in a political discussion! If you are Jaded, i'm sorry, you shouldnt give up on the process so easily. America needs honest patriots not quitters!

Your comments about the 2 term amendment and Clinton still being president is very funny! Do you honestly believe an Impeached president would be re-elected? If so:

Um, Facts?

Need I remind you that after he was impeached his approval ratings were still above 70%. If he could have run again, he would have been re-elected, there's no doubt about it. (And let's not get into the fact that Clinton was impeached for perjury while Bush skates on fraud and obtaining money under false pretenses)

And I am an honest patriot, and I refuse to compromise my honesty and principals by voting for a corrupt party that is no different from the opposing party. I am well aware of the fact that the person who most wants to run or rule over people is the least suited for the job.

I vote for the dipping of the thumbs in ink like they did in iraq. get some ink that cannot wash off, and let anyone who walks thru the door without an inky thumb vote.

I think it would increase turnout. nowadays when you go to work and ask people"Did you vote?" they all say yes, but voter turnout shows otherwise. if you had a purple thumb for a week, everyone would know you voted. I think that would shame alot of lazy people into voting and you would get a better reflection of america's views overall.

just my two-bit idea.
Ever get the feeling you have 200 men with tanks and rockets, and they are getting their asses kicked by a neanderthal with a stick???
