This is an encore to the 3456 League. You can examine the specifics of that one in its thread, but the basics were to find the singles player with a broad range of skills in different size games, different maps, and different card and fortification settings.
The 2-8 League will begin around February 11. It involves a large number of games, and requires premium membership. Here are the guidelines:
1. 40 players, in 5 divisions of 8 players each.
2. 5 division winners and 3 non-winners with the highest point totals will advance to the 8-player final
3. In each round, each player will play 5 games per week for 5 weeks. I'm going to control the scheduling a little more than I did for 3456 so games won't generally take as long, but you will still certainly have times with 10 or more games going on at once.
4. Each player's 25 total games will breakdown as follows: 4 8-player games, 7 7-player games, 3 6, 5 5, 2 4, 3 3, and 1 2.
5. Each player will get to choose the settings for 1 7p game, 1 5p game, 1 3p game, and either a 6p or 8p game, and either a 2p or 4p game.
6. When signing up, choose the following (all games standard sequential):
a. 5 different maps.
i. 1, 2, or 3 can come from the "Old-Standard Play" list.
ii. 1 or 2 must come from the "New-Standard Play" list.
iii. 1 or 2 must come from the "Wrinkle" list.
b. cards: 2 esc, 2 flat, 1 choice
c. forts: 1 unl, 1 cha, 1 adj, 2 choice
7. You will join 5 games each of the following days: Feb 11, 18, 25, Mar 3, 10
8. Finals tentatively scheduled for: Apr 14, 21, 28, May 12, 19
9. Eligibility: meet any 1 of the following 3 requirements
a. Participant in 3456 League
b. 1250 Rating (at either sign-up or Feb 11)
c. 1050 Rating and 75 games completed (at either sign-up or Feb 11)
10. Points awarded per game:
8p: 15/12/9/7/5/3/1/0
7p: 12/10/7/5/3/1/0
6p: 10/7/5/3/1/0
5p: 9/7/5/2/0
4p: 8/5/2/0
3p: 6/3/0
2p: 4/0
11. Stalemates: Any players still active in a game unfinished after 40 rounds will receive the number of points earned by the lowest-placing finisher still active at that point. For example, in a 6-player game, where A is eliminated in round 6, B in round 13, C in Round 41, D in Round 44, and F defeats E in Round 50, A gets 0 points for finishing 6th, B gets 1 point for finishing 5th, and C, D, E, and F, all get 3 points (the 4th place amount).
12. I'll need coordinators for each of the 5 divisions to pull this off. I'll send you the PM template each week for you to forward to the other 7 in your divison. Please let me know when signing up if you would be willing to do this.
13. Players will be seeded 1-40 based on their ranking as of approximately Feb 11.
a. Group 1: Seeds 1, 10, 11, 20, 21, 30, 40
b. Group 2: Seeds 2, 9, 12, 19, 22, 29, 31, 39
etc.
14. Tiebreakers
a. First round: Number of wins, Number of 2nd place finishes, 3rds, etc
b. Finals: Points in first round, Number of wins, 2nds, etc
