the first emulater i dowloaded onto my computer (nester) gave me a prompt that read something like-this is out of date-when i tried to run it. do i just try to load different ones until I get the one that runs or does it have to do with my computer? I have windows 95 and the computer is about 4 years old

Have you tried rigorously mashing your forehead against the keyboard repeatedly?

why are you running windows 95 on a computer that is only 4 years old?

While I don't know a lot about emulators I would guess that the problem is that your running windows 95. A computer that is only 4 years old should run windows xp so I would suggest upgrading.

I recommend:
FCE Ultra for NES
Snes9x for SNES
1964 or Project64 for N64

Good luck.

For a Win95 Box that's 4 years old, I'd suggest BioNES if you can find it. It's got a clean interface and it also uses very little system resources.
