Comments: Way strange. Unprotected borders... not attacking the other strong guy at the table... Maybe I'm wrong, probably am, but way strange nonetheless.

Often times unspoken "alliances" occur because the top players don't want to threaten their lead. If they began to attack each other all 4 players would be equal. If they try to attack the other players they stay stronger.

Unless there is evidence from multiple games to show that this is a repeating pattern I will suspect its due to the above scenario.

I didn't see a single other game they played together, and the unprotected borders just hooked me... OK, I'll throw away the milk, it didn't taste good anyway.
