Abortion Scenario's (2)

I've never been in the situation, but I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't feel any remorse about it either. I would imagine (hope) that the rest of society would view it as self-defense and not see me as a murderer first and foremost. On the other hand, if I were to walk up to someone standing in line ahead of me at the local movie theater and blow them away, I seriously doubt that the same societal factions would again be in my favor. So...do I think abortion is murder? In order to seriously answer your question, the question would have to be broken down to include a variety of scenarios.

You wanted it you got it, here it is our first situation....

20 year old mary is out for a night on the town, while out she meets billy, Billy really really thiks mary is hot and pretends to listin to her, eventully one thing leads to another and the next morning...

Nothing happens when mary wakes up billy is gone.

3 1/2 Weeks later.....

Mary has missed her period, and a visit to the doctor concludes that she is indeed pregnant. Abortion is legal in her State/Proince/Country.

She should consult the important people in her life and get their advice, then she should choose for herself which solution is more emotionally and personally sound.

I refuse to judge her on her decision.

Three possible answers:

1. Kill herself. Anyone who can get conned by a dimwit named Billy, shouldn't be allowed to live, let alone breed.

2. Kill Billy. Only a moron of biblical proportions would leave a hot, easy 20 year old in bed without first getting some in the morning.

3. Whatever the hell she wants to do as long as it's within the confines of the applicable laws that govern her...

Now...how else can I enlighten you?

I'd say it's up to her. I won't say she needs to put it up for adoption, or that she cannot abort it because it would be killing a life. It's her child, and she has every right to do whatever she wants to it.

Her child eh?

What's the difference between a child in the womb and out of the womb?

If you kill it, its abortion or murder.

Does the mother have "the right" to smother her 6 month old with a pillow? Its HER kid remember.

Mary gotta pay the piper. Rape would be different, but Billy isn't a rapist, he is a redblooded boy who got what he wanted because of Mary's gullibility. 8)

Omg, have you guys been reading my journal.....

For the record, I considered ALL possible options, and my son will be 8 in October.

Also for the record, I don't think you should get a vote if you don't actually have a vagina...but maybe that's because I've never actually seen any of those court ordered child support checks.

Doesn't it take a vagina AND a penis to procreate? Just because your purse is carrying my money doesn't mean it isn't mine. :D

Then help take care of it...I'm not trying to start a fight, but I've seen too many moms get into a bad way because the baby's daddy said "no" to an abortion or adoption and then they're gone without a trace before the baby's first birthday.

Maybe you're different, but then it's not really an issue for you because I'm sure you'd be smart enough to be a responsible man in the first place.

My thoughts are that if a woman is looking at raising a child alone, an outside third party shouldn't make her do something she doesn't want to. For an actual truly caring couple it's another story, two people means two votes.

Unfortunatly, thats not how the laws are written. If Tommy had a wife and she got pregnant, even if Tommy wanted the child the mother has final say and could if she chose get an abortion. The sad thing about abortion is that the Fathers rights are seldom respected and the childs rights are never respected.

What about the child's right to die?

I mean nobody asks to be born, yet you bastards insist on bringing us all into the world, to experience this shit hole known as life.

I for one would like to have been asked.

I didn't say it was the law, I said it's my opinion.

I can really see both sides of this issue because of my personal situation.
I got pregnant at 19, the dad suggested an abortion, after much thought I decided that it just wasn't in me to do that...and I never saw him again.

Later I got married and for three whole years this man was a great stepdad to my son, but when I told him I was pregnant with our daughter....I never saw him again.

I've never had any help from either father. I'm not mad about it, but I'm a little disappointed. I might have been able to provide something extra for my children in their early years instead of just the necessary minimums.

I'm probably not as bad off as I could be....I've got a decent job (in a pediatrics practice, which helps alot) and I've got good friends I can lean on when I need to and I'm grateful for that.

Abortion was not the right choice for me, but I'm a strong individual. I can't imagine what this situation might have done to someone who has a weaker character. I can't fault someone for wanting to avoid the hard road.

You took him in the literal sense throughout a timeline...that's not what he meant...it doesn't take a genius to figure out what he was trying to say. In this particular hypothetical situation, if the law were to state that an abortion may be had within, say, the first 8 weeks, then Mary is within her right to abort the fetus if she so chooses. That would be the LAW. I know, I know...not GOD'S LAW, right? Here is one of many circumstances where man's law is in direct conflict with your God's law. Whatever are you to do? I hope that you're not one of those "other" religious fanatics who think that they are doing God's will in ridding society of these horrible, abortion-performing doctors....

You might be right, but my guess is that you'd have a hell of a time finding a doctor willing to give a woman an abortion in those circumstances. I had to talk to eleven doctors before I would find one to tie my tubes because I was only 23 and unmarried, even though I already had two kids....even then, the only method the doctor would use is the ring method, which has the highest failure rate, and that's just long-term birth control.

First, she should seek counseling....sure she might not want to raise a stranger's baby, but an abortion doesn't undo the things that happened to her. After that, she should do what she wants. If Jenny was MY friend I'd hope she'd choose adoption...or even to keep the baby, if she's brave, but I wouldn't end our friendship if she chose to have an abortion.

And I'd advise her to get a concealed carry license...but that's a subject for another thread.

Jenny should definately get counselling for the trama she went through. If she is a REAL strong woman (I'd take my hat off to anyone who could) she could raise the child. If she couldn't do that then adoption. Killing a child for the sins of the Father isn't right. The child has done nothing to deserve death.
