Mayors of Luxembourg. [Canceled]

A very short tournament: 2 Games only. Description below.

This tournament will be played entirely on the Luxembourg map with these common settings:
  • Standard
  • Sequential
  • No Cards
  • No Fog
  • Unlimited

Each participant in the tournament will pick a territory on the map (other than Luxembourg City), and fight to become the ruler of the region. The tournament will consist of two rounds only:
  • One game with everyone is your region (the bonus area you territory is part of on the map). This will mean that not all games will have the same amount of people! So choose your starting territory wisely. The Winner of each game in the first round becomes duke of that area and advances to the second round.
  • All the Dukes will then fight in a 5 man game (same settings) for the throne, and to win the tournament.

To sign up, post the territory you wish to be mayor of at the start of the tournament, this will determine who you will be fighting in the first round, and how many people are contending to be the duke of your region. Once again, Luxembourg City is not included!

Here is a list of all the territories (and the regions they are in) you can sign up for:

Ardennes:

Letzebuerg:

Terres Rouges:

Mullerthal:

Moselle:

Because this is a no cards tournament, if you do not win the first match within 50 rounds, you will not advance to the next since you will have missed the fight for becoming king! 50 rounds is a lot, and I may lower it by popular demand, I just do not want people to build up armies for 100 rounds since there is no need to attack.

This tournament only consists of 2 GAMES on a really small map, so freemiums are welcome.

Why is everyone joining the 4 player region? (just curious)

I prefer 4 player Lux games. More balanced than 3 player, I think

Nice tournament idea. Not sure if I'm in though - I think the stalemate rule should be higher than 50, especially for Ardennes. By making it a 50 round game, you're not allowing for many attack-regroup cycles, which will encourage suicides rather than balanced attack. 100 is a much more workable number, particularly for 4 and 5 player, no card games. The alternative would be to take the top two players from the Ardennes and Letzberg games.

Lol, 2 games, i wonder who's trying to get a medal

How is this fair, what is it?

That is not fair at all, that would alter the starting territory numbers and make the game easier for some rather than others.

This is a small map, like doodle, some start with 2 territories to start with, if they go last they lose automatically dont they.
This is just a luck tournament and you are only doing i because you want a medal.

Playing 3, 4, or 5 player game on a small map is in many ways better that playing 1v1 because the balance of the game is more fragile (assuming you have reasonably on the ball players who are willing to play it out).

There is nothing wrong with starting out with a simple tournament... better than biting off more than you can chew, and then abandoning in the middle of the tourney. Nothing wrong with Neon's setup other than 50 turns being a little aggressive.

i actually agree, Ive been thinking to start a tournament with multiple brackets, a 1v1, and 3-way, a 4-way, all the way to 8-way and have the winners fight, its a lopsided bracket but some players specialize in different game types... i like it :)

A medal? Not sure what you mean y that, it is a lot easier to win a few games on a map than start a tournament for it where you have to wait for people to join. And the unbalanced games are for the purpose of giving people a choice in the first round. I picked 3 player first, some slots are still open on every game and people are picking the 4 and 5 player games as well.
