Announcing the NFL Tournament - 2008/2009 Season
Open for Freemiums
Requirements: 32 Teams of 2 players each. Freemiums MUST keep 1 game slot open / week.
WARNING - This tournament will last 6 months
Concept: You pick your favorite NFL team (thus 32 teams in this tournament). You get to choose your home map, cards, forts, and fog. This will be referred to as your "home" settings. When you play at home, you will play on your map with your settings. When you play away, you will use the other teams home map / settings.
All games are Doubles/ sequential play - you choose the rest. Seeing as football is a team sport - this will be a team tournament. This tournament is for Doubles only - HOWEVER - If you do not have a team, find a spot with "Partner Needed" and ask to join that team. Should there be no "partner needed" - find an empty NFL team and I will put you in that spot with Partner Needed. The next Single to come along will be your partner.
32 teams Divided into AFC and NFC
AFC divided into East/West/South/North
NFC divided into East/West/South/Noth
We will follow the NFL schedule - including preseason games. Just like the NFL - the preseason games have no bearing on the final standings. They are for warm ups / practise etc. First games start on:
August 7, 2008 (5 matches) (NYG @ DET / NYJ @ CLE / BAL @ NE / KC @ CHI / NO @ ARI)
August 8, 2008 (3 matches) (PHI @ PIT / SEA @ MIN / SF @ OAK)
August 9, 2008 (7 matches) (BUF @ WAS / TB @ MIA / IND @ CAR / ATL @ JAC / DEN @ HOU / STL @ TEN / DAL @ SD)
August 11, 2008 (1 match) (CIN @ GB)
There are 4 weeks of Preseason before regular season starts.
Regular season starts on Thursday, Sept 4, 2008 (WAS @ NYG), and all the sunday games on Sep 7, 2008, and of course 2 games on the monday nighter.
Scoring
Simple - You win - you get a point, you lose, you get nothing
