Prologue:
In the WWE, Royal Rumble is the second biggest event of the year and directly sets the table for Wrestlemania. In case you don't know how the fight works, I'll briefly explain here. 30 men fight to be the last man in ring, eliminating opponents by throwing them over the top rope to the floor below. The fight begins with 2 combatants and 90 seconds later another contestant enters the ring. At any given time, there may be as few as 1 person in the ring or as many as 15 or 20. There's plenty of teamwork and backstabbing, close calls and easy losses, and great battling. In the end, one person stands in the ring and is given the opportunity to fight in the Main Event at Wrestlemania.
Game Play:
So this is how we are going to mimic this: I will randomly give each contestant a number 1 thru 30. That is your entry number. The fight will start with #1 and #2 in a 1 v 1 fight. Now here's the trick: after 6 rounds, if both opponents are still alive, the third combatant enters the fight. How? A new map is started: a three person fight. They fight for 6 rounds, trying to knock one another out. Once 5 rounds pass again, #4 gets to join the fight. This would continue until the last participant, #30, gets to join the fight and then that's the final map. Who ever wins this fight wins the match! Congrats!
Questions Answered:
What does the winner get?
In the WWE, the winner gets a shot at the title and a place in the Main Event at Wrestlemania. Since we do not yet have a champ, this winner will become the champion. My goal is to continue into a full season, called CCW - Conquer Club Wrestling, leading up to Wrestlemania, but for now, just being the Champ will have to do.
What happens to the old game when the new one is generated?
The old game obviously has to be finished and obviously will count toward your personal win/loss total, but it doesn't really effect the outcome of this tournament any longer. In other words, there is only battle that is actually part of the tournament at any given time. The most recently made map is the only battle that is counting toward the Royal Rumble. However, when the CCW season begins, these results will play into your rankings/fueds/friendships/goals. All wins, losses and eliminations will be included in that season.
What about the fact that someone might be close to eliminating someone, but that fact is forgotten when the new map is created
In the WWE, when another person comes into the ring, it usually leads to a complete change in the momentum of the match. I feel that this momentum change is demonstrated by the new map being basically equal to begin. Sorry if you are the one that is in the lead at the time, but those are the breaks.
What if someone is eliminated prior to the 5th round?
If someone is eliminated prior to the 5th round, that person is out of the tournament. Then the remaining participants continue to fight until the fifth round is over at which point another person is added. However, if someone wins and everyone else is eliminated, then we've got a special situation. In the real match, that person would have to wait in the ring until the next person shows up. That's not what we'll do here. Here we'll just start a new 1v1 fight with the next person in line immediately and then it goes from there.
What happens if there are 8 contestants in the battle and the fifth round comes and goes?
In the real Royal Rumble, they let everyone get in the ring, but we can only fit 8 people on map at once. So what are we going to do? When 8 people get in the battle at once and it gets past 5 rounds, it will stay at 8 until someone gets eliminated. When that elimination occurs, another person gets thrown in immediately and it starts over.
Did I read something about teamwork and backstabbing?
That is true. The Royal Rumble is not a pleasant environment and it is not a fair fight. Sometimes the best fighter gets taken out by three worse fighters who just have a vendetta. That's the way it goes. So I want to say that alliances are allowed in this tournament, however, THIS ABSOLUTELY NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IN THE CHAT. NO SECRET ALLIANCES. Secret alliances should never be allowed, even in this fight. Conquer Club won't put up with that and neither will I! That being said, there's no whining allowed just because two people stopped attacking each other and went after you.
How do I sign up? Which wrestler can I represent?
I want all participants to REPRESENT! When you sign up choose a wrestler that you would like to play as. I'd like it to be a real wrestler, past or present. The fun will be finding the right fit for you and the more interesting the better, but try to avoid getting too obscure.
Stipulations:
-You will probably need to be premium. If you are doing well and are near the beginning, you'll likely be in quite a few battles.
-I would like to hear from you with regards to if you feel that round 5 is too early or too late for the next participant to come to the ring
-This being my first tourney, I'm open to any suggestions or opinions that you have.
Good Luck Everyone
