there are all kinds of speculations about ranks being proof of skill or on the contrary ranks being nothing close to skill.
i think the best way to settle this is with a battle.
i want to host such a battle and i'm thinking like this:
40 players. 10 for each of the following groups:
2500+
2000-2499
1500-1999
1-1499
players will be divided in 10 groups of 4 players each.
all games will be 4 player standard on all maps.
all the other settings will be random:
seq/freestyle
no cards/flat rate/escalating
adjacent/chained/unlimited
fog/no fog
all participants must have premium. as batches of 10 games will be played at once.
i'm also thinking about adding a maximum rounds limit. if after 30 rounds a game is still not over then that game is considered a loss for everybody.
deadbeats will be removed and replaces with a reserve. each player will have 24 hours to join his game from the moment he receives his pm.
after all the games in the groups are finished we'll have 10 group winners. we count the group winners and see from what area of rank they come. what ever area has more group winners wins.
in case of a tie further games will be played but i doubt this will happen. i mean with all the settings and all the maps surely luck will have very little influence and thus skill should prevail.
btw the winner will get a custom banner for his sig.
participants: (will be added to the list according to points, highest first)
