2008 Tri-season Doubles League (Semi Finals Starting Soon)

I'm looking for players that are able to commit to a year long league, broken up into 3 seasons, with holiday breaks and finals time.
The basic structure will be 3, 12 week seasons (10 weeks comp + 2 week finals) and breaks between each season, and a final 2 week champions round at the end of 2008.
There will be one game per week, 3x2 6-player doubles games. Teams will rotate through playing each other in a round-robin structure during the 10 week standard season, and then a finals system will be played, 1stvs4thvs7th, 2ndv5thvs8th, 3rdvs6thvs9th, then the grand final, of the winners of those three games in a 6-player doubles.
I'm hoping to have 15 teams or so. But you are welcome to sign up as individuals if you do not have a teammate, I will keep a list of players needing teammates, and join you up with others who need a partner.
Rounds will be on alternating maps and settings. Always sequential. No "big maps", and no settings that will make long games. So generally Unlim or Chained. Flat or Escalating. There may be some No Cards or Adjacent on small maps, depending on how we go. I will publish a list of maps closer to the start date if there is enough interest. Starting date is mid-January.
Premium is required, as you need to be able to commit to joining one game a week, without fail. Games will be created on weekends, and you will be expected to join by Tuesday, or provide suitable explanation of why you haven't.
Teams that are late to join games will incur a points penalty, as will players who deadbeat in a game -3 points per player. And, speaking of scoring, 10 pts for a win, 5 pts for second, 0 pts for last. You live and die as a team, not as individuals.

All in so far, madman7, I'll put you with rahimj_27.
As for maps, I'm going to stick to "whole world or continent" maps, which leaves us with the following...
Classic, Africa, Asia, Australia, Doodle Earth, Europe, Extreme Global Warming, and North America and World 2.1.
World 2.1 games will always be Escalating. Otherwise they'll slow up the season. Only Doodle Earth and Australia will ever be No Cards, again for the same reason. Most games will be Flat or Escalating, to keep the season moving at a good pace. All "possibly long" games will be played early in the season, with the pace of games picking up towards the end.

No "big maps" huh? Because there are quit a few people who don't like World 2.1 and it is a big map.
I'm in and have a few partners lined up.

all in so far, 9/15 teams. I've put proposed fixtures above, please have a look at the games and see if you have any comment. I've tried to put fast finishing games towards the end. I did say no big maps, but I've gone the world/continent idea. There is only 1 world 2.1 game, and it is early on so it will get finished on time. And it's escalating. I hope that everyone can handle that
Call it a challenge if you don't like it

Got you juls, that makes 13 full teams and Japser_be who I'm waiting to get a partner. Only one team spot open, and one singles spot. I will still take reserves. Due to the nature of this league I expect we might get the occasional dropout, so please sign up as individual reserves, and I will sub you in for missing single players. Teams that have one member miss a game will get the chance to sub in a new player (from the reserves list, in order). If the player you are assigned is on the current players ignore list, I will skip to the next player. Otherwise, team changes are final and will persist for the rest of the league.
If you approach me before a deadbeat and let me know someone will not be around (maybe for one round) then you (as a team) can substitute in a player for a game (or two if needed, no more), and have your old partner return when they get back.
If I have to make the substitution, it is permanent and irreversible (except in extreme circumstances to be decided depending on how nicely you ask)
Hope that's okay with everyone
