<<Kill The King>> [Round 2]

This is an ongoing league style tourney... with a difference

Freemium is okay, you will only have to play one game at once (two on rare occasions) but will need to commit to holding one slot open, with another possible one on the rare occasions outlined below. You will have 48 hours to join games (without communication explaining the delay) before you are dropped from the player pool.

Once I have enough players, I'm thinking 30, tho maybe 60 depending on how fast we fill up, one player will randomly be crowned "the king". Only I will know who "the king" is. I will not be playing in the tournament. rounds will be played, random selection of opponents. 6-player various map (alphabetically cycled per game) sequential, escalating, unlimited, fog on and terminator, to represent the killing of a king. If you kill the king, you take the crown when you advance to the next round. (Even if you are eliminated that round, kingship is only conferred at the end of a match and will not be traded twice in one match) If you are eliminated by the king, or you are last in your match, you are removed from the player pool. Everyone else will go into the next round. (in the event that there are not a multiple of 6 players, some players will play two games, semi-randomly selected with no-one doing this twice until everyone has). If you are the king, you cannot be eliminated in the round your crown is taken, even if you come last. (Everyone gets a payback game! even if you know it or not)

The league will continue, with each new round not beginning until the last round has finished, until we are down to the final 6. Games should be mostly unidentifiable from the game search since they are alphabetically cycled. I may fill up extra games with players who are waiting that do not count towards elimination or contain "the king" in order to confuse you people who are going to try and work the numbers on the system... HAHA! You will not know if this is the case, you will simply join games when you are told. I won't put you in two games at once (or I shouldn't... I dunno... I might get lazy) but you'll still never know which game is the real one... Play them all your best.

Sorry.. I got sidetracked by my own imagination... *cough* yeah.. with the final 6 players we will continue to play round after round. If you are the king, and you win the round, you win the tournament. If the king is killed, he is eliminated (which only happens in the final 6) kingship conferred, and every other player will carry through to the next round. Until the king wins, or is eliminated in the final 1v1 battle.

Sign up if you're crazy about assasinating monarchs!

Questions:

1> Will the KING know that they are the King?
2> Will the group at large get a notification between rounds of:
--a: who's eliminated
--b: if the 'king' switched hands or not in that round?
3> I assume these will be PRIVATE games, and not listed as a tournament?
4> Alphabetical maps? You could just use a subset of 'Monarchy'-appropriate maps, like historical battles did... say: "King of the Mountains, Siege, Age of Realms: Might, British Isles, Middle Earth, Valley of the Kings"... just off the top of my head. Others could be squeezed in or out.

*debates if he should join* Lemme think about this one a bit, I'm in a few tourneys right now, don't wanna overload...

1> No, the king will not know they are king. There are a couple of ways it could be worked out after a couple of rounds, if people all talk to one another, but failing that, it's an unknown. I wonder if the concept of "king" isn't the right one to use, but it'll do. Maybe like some sort of soul spirit power or something. hahah...

2> No, if they are that concerned, they'll have to search the game list (and they will be tourney games, not private) I might say whether the king has switched or not, but I might not. I don't think so. Basically, you should get to play lots of games as long as you don't come last... Try win all your games and eliminate as many people as possible!

4> The concept for alphabetical maps is you will not be able to look up the game list and see which games are in which round. I will not be titling games. Unless you're really OCD about keeping records, it should be harder. This is the "CC King", not the "world king" and as such, should be played on all maps.

*debate* > yes, of course you should join. This will be a one game at a time commitment. Surely you can handle that. Cmon, it's only one game!

You might consider changing this, unless you think it will be really difficult for someone to figure out who was removed in the last round. As soon as more (or fewer) people are taken out than games played, we'll know who the king is.

Also, the games won't be hard to track if you make each round at a time, because of the numbering, so I suggest you make many more than necessary, then give out each game number at random as needed.

Anyways, 6 player escalating, I'm definitely in.

This is a brilliant idea... Cheers. That solves all of the problems I was having.. You'll still be able to see by which games have players or not... unless I give out the game numbers randomly too, not in order.. hah.. that's a great idea... oh. bummer... no wait.. the problem with that is games disappear after 15 days if they are not filled... I believe... (can anyone confirm this?) so that would make it hard... I think we're just going to have to put up with the fact the king will be identifiable.. it makes you a target... so it might not always be the best strategy to become king... you might want to just not lose? I don't know.. lets play and see...!

Each different game will be on a different map, so not all round 1 games on the same map, round 2 on a diff map. every GAME will be on different map, in alphabetical order as listed below. The games are escalating so even the big maps will get won in good time. The map is irrelevant, this is for the Kingship of ConquerClub, therefore the territories it gets fought on are the lands of CC

So if the king personally eliminates all 5 opponents in one game then all 5 are eliminated from the tournament?

Sounds like fun. Count me in.

Long live the King!!! (As long as I'm king, that is...
Otherwise, Off with his Head!)

This is true. I don't imagine any escalating terminator games will take more than two weeks to finish, so you could probably make at least two rounds at a time. Anyone who wanted to keep track of which round was which would have to search all games and record which ones are being filled.

All in to this point.

You make a good point baldadonis, I'll definately do something like that. With randomised orders of game selection (rather than numerical) even if games disappear, that won't be a major hassle as it will just add to the confusion.

Chaos! Confusion! Yes, it's all good in the abyss!
