Ok I'll try to keep it brief, a few questions about starting a tourny for Canadian players to find the best Canadian player.
1) I'm just a basic member, do I need to upgrade?
2) How do you get the word out to Canadian players to see if they want to compete?
3) What's the easiest type of tourny for a first timer to orginize?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

You do not need to upgrade in order to start a tournament. You do however need to read the Tournament Handbook which is stickied to the top of this Forum. As far as getting word out to the Canadian players you simply need to specify in your tournament description that you are looking for only Canadian players.
In regards to the easiest type of tournament, you should start with a bracket style tournament and if you are going to restrict it to only Canadian players then you should probably start with a smaller number, probably no more than 16 players at most.
That's my opinion of course.

He never asked for a rough idea.
Now, I don't play a big role in the pikachu clan, I could take their thing out of my sig, and no one would give two shits.
And I don't normally go into the clubhouse, thats more your job.
Thanks for trying though, your mother would be proud.

I think a Canadian championship tourney would be great. I look forward to hoisting the Stanley Cup of CC.

He might get more interest if he actually posted some info in regards to the Tournament. 1v1? Standard? Terminator? 4 players? 5 players? 6 players? People rarely make a decision without an idea of what to expect.
I will be interrested...
