Act I: Premiers (1914)
(12 games, 1v1, 2 pts each) - 20 rounds, flat rate, sunny, chained
Maps: Home maps
Yes, there are rumblings of revolution and war, but the world is still at relative peace. In fact, the only battles to speak of are internal, political ones. Whether by election, revolution, or assassination, you must attain power to become the premier of your homeland. Every game this round is played on the country's home map (listed above). Win the round-robin against your four fellow countrymen to consolidate power and advance to Act II.
Act II: A Shot Heard Around the World (1914)
(9 games, 2v2, 4 pts each) - 20 rounds, flat rate, sunny, chained
Maps: Serbia, Europe 1914, Transib 1914
The assassination of Archduke Ferdinand (Austro-Hungary's runner-up) triggers the beginning of World War I. You are now teamed with (3) other nations in an alliance; however, you will only play with (1) of them against (2) enemies in any given game. For scheduling / sequencing purposes, players are ranked by 1st-round point totals (CC score is the tie-breaker).
(3x) 1/2 vs 1/2
(3x) 1/3 vs 1/3
(3x) 1/4 vs 1/4
(3x) 2/3 vs 2/3
(3x) 2/4 vs 2/4
(3x) 3/4 vs 3/4
Act III: Into the Trenches (1914-1916)
(9 games, 3v3, 6 pts each) - 20 rounds, flat rate, fog of war, chained, trench
Maps: France 2.1, WWI Galipoli, Trench Warfare
As war rages across Europe, the battles get bigger and the attrition gets even bloodier. You are now partnered with (2) allies in each game against (3) opponents. For scheduling / sequencing purposes, players are re-ranked by cumulative 1st- & 2nd- round point totals.
(3x) 1/2/3 vs 1/2/3
(3x) 2/3/4 vs 2/3/4
(3x) 1/3/4 vs 1/3/4
(3x) 1/2/4 vs 1/2/4
Act IV: World at War (1916-1918)
(8 games, 4v4, 8 pts each) - 20 rounds, flat rate, fog of war, chained, trench
Maps: Kingdom of Denmark, Nordic Countries, Magyarorszag, BeNeLux, Tribal War - Israel, Dark Continent, Land and Sea, World 2.1
(8) games will determine the fate of the world. For sequencing purposes, players are re-ranked by cumulative 1st-, 2nd-, & 3rd- round point totals.
(8x) 1/2/3/4 vs 1/2/3/4
Miscellaneous Rules & Finish
If you are eliminated before victory in a team game, you lose half of your awarded points from that game (IOW, if my team wins a game in Act IV, but I am eliminated before the end of that game, I only gain 4 pts rather than 8 pts). Nothing wrong with a little, healthy backstabbing
The winning team will have the most combined points; however, the winning PLAYER will have the most points on the winning team (IOW, if Player Germany has more points than Player England, but the Allies win the war, then Player England wins the tournament).
ANY tie(s) shall be settled by (1) doodle earth game.
