[TEAMS] City Cup - Rep for your city [16/16]

Hi everyone,

Are you ready to participate in a tournament that will decide which is the Conquer Club city of the year?

Tournament Layout

This tournament will consist of 32 teams, each representing a city or set of cities. The cities have been carefully chosen based on the location of Conquer Club players (for example, there are many teams in the US, UK, and Canada because that is where a large amount of Conquer Club players are located). Each team will consist of 4 players (and could have reserves / subs in case a player on your team is on vacation for example).

The map for this tournament will be World 2.1. There will be 5 rounds - Group Stage, Round of 16, Round of 8, Semi-finals, and Finals.

Below are the settings for each stage.

Group Stage: Quad, Automatic, Sequential, Flat Rate, Chained, 20 Rounds Limit
Round of 16: Quad, Automatic, Sequential, No Spoils, Parachute, 20 Rounds Limit
Round of 8: Quad, Automatic, Sequential, No Spoils, Chained, 20 Rounds Limit
Semi-finals and Finals: Quad, Automatic, Sequential, No Spoils, Adjacent, 20 Rounds Limit

No outside help and/or intervention is allowed.

In each round, you will play each opposing team in 3 games. In case of a score tie in the knockout stages (Round of 16 and beyond), both teams will play 2 more games to determine which team will move forward.

Scoring

Each win (excluding win by round limit) gives you a score of 4. However, for each player on your team that was eliminated before the win, you lose one point (-1). For example, if your team won with two players at the end, your team will only get 2 points. If the game ends by round limit and the winning team has more players left, the winning team will score based on the difference in players before the round limit. For example, if the winning team has three players and the losing team has two players, the winning team will get 1 point. However, if the player count is a tie or if the losing team has more players (but less troops, therefore, they still lost), then neither team gets any points (it will be a tie game of 0:0).

If you have any questions about the scoring, please ask in this thread. I understand it may be confusing.

Tournament Guidelines

We would like participating players to have the following:
1) A score of at least 1,500 - this is to prevent against huge score differences between players
2) Some experience playing team games
3) Premium membership or freemium with the ability to join 3 games in 24 hours

Exceptions could be made for all these; please PM me if you do not meet the guidelines above but would still like to participate. You may also sign up for others if you have a team in mind already.

Teams

Teams will be organized into Pots based on their geographical location. Each Group will be allocated a team from each Pot, making a total of eight Groups (Groups A through H). Players may join the city or set of cities of his/her choice; however, it is strongly recommended that you pick the team closest to you. For example, if you are in Australia, you should pick Sydney - Melbourne - Auckland rather than a team in the US.

Current Tournament Line-up

This tournament will begin on June 1st, 2019 regardless of sign-ups. If we don't have enough players signed up, I will consolidate / decrease the amount of teams and/or decrease the team size to triples / doubles. The reason for a set start date instead of a set player count is to avoid people that have signed up for this tournament forgetting about it, losing their premium, going inactive, etc.

If we can't find 128 players in 3 months (aiming to start in June), I will consolidate / decrease the amount of teams. I will gauge this based on how many people sign up this month.

Not trying to be critical here, just realistic with what cc is today. I hope it fills because it looks like a fun tournament.

I completely understand; I used to play this game during college (started in 2010 with my most active period in 2014 and 2015) and came back periodically after that. Back then, there were 10,000+ players on the leaderboard and now there's around half that amount. I noticed there's very few tournaments going above 64 players as well (even above 32 players is not much nowadays). I really hope it fills up too but if it doesn't, I am prepared to consolidate teams (e.g. New York and Boston could be one team, Canada could be decreased to 1 or 2 teams instead of 4, etc.)

I appreciate the PM. I like the setup, but not the large maps... If I'm still around in June, PM me again and I'll probably fill a spot if it's needed.

I noticed I am a reserve. I asked to be removed as I didn't meet the criteria. Please remove me from this tournament.
