May 2023 Monthly Challenge Blind Companion Tournament: Gold
Mods can join! (except chanakam2020 and groovysmurf)
Hello people,
This is a blind companion tournament for the May Monthly Challenge. That means you will be signing up without knowledge of the map(s). This tournament will be played on the map(s) and settings needed to receive the gold token.
We are looking for 18 players to play 15 games over the month of May. Three games will be sent once every week. Each week will feature a different map.
People with priority get in first regardless of when they post to join. You receive priority by signing up for the previous month's challenge BEFORE the sign-up deadline and not getting in.
Challonge.com Standings
Schedule
May 1st - 3 games
May 8th - 3 games
May 15th - 3 games
May 22nd - 3 games
May 29th - 3 games
Settings
Maps: Five maps all medium sized (smallest is 42 territories, largest is 60) and all fairly standard (one maybe a bit complex)
Players Per Game: 6
Game Type: Standard
Initial Troops: Automatic
Play Order: Sequential
Spoils: Escalating
Reinforcements: Chained
FOG: Yes
TRENCH: No
Round Limit: 20
Round Length: 24 Hours
Rules
Each round of games will be filled randomly, using random. org. Whomever has the best record over 15 games, wins. In the event of a tie, tiebreaker game(s) on the same map and settings (though as Poly 3, 2 player games) will be sent until players are no longer tied. For example, if two people tie, one game will be made and the winner will also win the tournament. If three people tie, three games will be made (A vs B; B vs C; A vs C) and the winner of two games will win the tournament. If four people tie, six games will be made (A vs B; A vs C; A vs D; B vs C; B vs D; C vs D) and hopefully just one person wins all three of their games and we can end this craziness!
If five or more people tie, I'll just quit the site and let someone else deal.
Tie-breaker games will likely not be played in May and therefore will likely not count towards the May Challenge scoreboard.
If you quit the tournament you are not eligible to get a medal for the May Monthly Challenge or Challenge Dome points for May!
Signups end April 29th 23:59 CCT!
Multiple iterations of the tournament will be run if filled. Keep signing up until the deadline!
