The 1922 season seen the league drop to 18 teams from 21 , Muncie , Cleveland , Brickley ,Tonawanda , Washington ,and the Detroit Tigers all left or folded , Milwaukee ,Oorang ,Racine and Toleda all joined this year
The Chicago Staleys changed their name to the more recognisable Bears ,the Cardinals became the Chicago Cardinals from this year

FUN FACT- The GREEN BAY PACKERS were officially known as the BLUES this year , as they has to re-register as they had fielded college players the previous season , everyone just ignored it and still called them the Packers
