Rules
This tournament will be based on the PGA Match-Play event with players squaring off in bracket play, needing to win an 18-hole head-to-head match to advance to the next round.
Each hole will be represented by a different CC map with random settings also for each hole, so players will get a wide variety of tests. The par-3 holes will be represented by smaller maps, such as Aussie or maybe even Doodle, while the par-5s will be represtented by larger maps -- North America, Feudal, etc. Also since you can't see the green on most par-5s, they will all be played under fog.
Scorecards will be printed before each round of the tournament, so players will know what they are facing before they start. And the 18-hole course will be the same for each match of that round.
To win a hole, the player must eliminate their opponent in 12 or fewer rounds. If the battle goes to 13+ rounds then that hole will be considered "halved".
For those not familiar with match-play scoring...
Players win a matchup by winning more holes than their opponent on the 18-hole course...for example, if Player A has taken three more maps than their opponent through 16 holes, Player A would win "3-&-2"...(up by 3 holes with 2 remaining).
If players are tied at the end of 18 holes, the first tiebreaker will go to whichever player ended up winning the most maps that were "halved". If it remains deadlocked, a 19th hole will be played to decide who advances -- (Classic, chained, escalating, sunny)
This tourney is open to freemiums and premium players, although I ask freemiums to keep several spots open, as I will be sending out three maps (holes) at a time.
ALL GAMES WILL BE SEQUENTIAL.
I am looking for the minimum 16 players, but will expand the bracket to 32 players if we garner enough interest.
I will be closing sign-ups at midnight, Monday, Oct. 19 (or earlier if we fill the bracket).
Players' rank at time of sign-up will decide where they are seeded when the tournament begins.
